I audio-garden just about every evening (currently living on cherry tomatoes!) This was a funny and lighthearted way to pluck some veggies! Kelsey runs a gossip podcast where she essentially tells some tales. I haven‘t listened to it but I can bet it‘s entertaining. She explores many aspects of gossip in the book including urban legends, mean girls, high school, pop culture, reality tv, celebrity gossip and more. It was ok, but not memorable.

Clever, tech‑driven YA mystery about a video that ruins reputations—even though it may be fake. High‑school rivalry, viral gossip, and shocking twists keep this page‑turner grounded in real‑world media weirdness. Compact, relevant, and suspenseful.

Maybe I need to give Hilderbrand a break. I‘m finding it a little boring the last few listens

PurpleyPumpkin That sometimes happens to me when I read the same author. Feels like it‘s a bit repetitive even if I enjoy the books! A break usually helps. 4mo
Shemac77 Agreed! I listened to something different and I‘m ready to hop back in. @PurpleyPumpkin 4mo

mcctrish I‘m so happy for Molly to feel happy ❤️ Cynthia is engaged to 2 men #thattracks is she using her money to pay off his debts and keep him quiet ? 4mo
Ruthiella I too am so pleased that Molly can spend some quality time with her father. The reader also feels the relief of Mrs. Gibson‘s absence. 4mo

willaful @Ruthiella yes, very much so. Though I kind of hate all the kindly neighbors for not leaving them be. Again I'm reminded of Austen, this time in the way your time is not your own. 4mo
Cuilin The social calls are eating into #DaddyDaughterTime @Ruthiella yes I‘m enjoying my own break from Mrs Gibson 😆 (edited) 4mo
ElizaMarie That Cynthia - ugh! Her juggling men totally tracks @mcctrish 4mo
mcctrish @Ruthiella reading about #notarealclare processing how to get her way is exhausting 4mo

willaful I just remembered, I was so confused by Molly's mother having also been named Preston. What an odd thing for an author to do, unless it's somehow going to be relevant to the plot, but since no one even remarks on it I don't think it is. 4mo
rubyslippersreads @willaful That confused me too. 4mo

My reading is getting quite interesting at this point of the year- novels for school, memoir for book club, and sci-fi & fantasy for relaxation! Enjoyed the tagged new release as a fan of the Normal Gossip podcast for my commute to work.

In one way this book is exactly what it says it‘s about but in another way I feel it‘s lacking &too surface level. I feel the latter has more to do w/me than the book. I didn‘t know of McKinney or her podcast previously; I was drawn to this book b/c I‘m someone who simultaneously loves &hates gossip &was hoping for some insight into our obsession w/it at a more psychological &social science level. This largely discusses celebrities &reality tv.

Reggie The podcast is effing hilarious. It‘s real low stakes gossip but the situations and where people find themselves is so outrageously funny. 7mo
Kristy_K @Reggie That‘s the kind of gossip I love to listen to! 7mo

This one was my least favorite of the three, but that‘s like your third favorite ice cream flavor. It‘s still really good and well-written and entertaining, but there were some real extra-dramatic things from the past brought up and one fight due to Magnolia being a complete nimwit that I didn‘t love. Other than that, this was another win for me, but I‘m really looking forward to getting back to Daisy Haites and seeing what she‘s been up to.
