Some of the books I'm planning to read this month. The slips are E-Books. If I don't note them on paper I tend to forget about those... 😅

Curiouser_and_curiouser That's a lot of books for a month! How many hours a day do you read? 5mo
Jari-chan @Curiouser_and_curiouser It depends on wheter it is a working day or a day off. I guess around four hours each day are dedicated to reading. Might be five on a day off. But it's hard so say actually 😅 5mo
Curiouser_and_curiouser @Jari-chan ok, that's fair. I think I may be a slower reader. If it's a very thick book it might take me a whole month to read. I wish I could somehow read faster but I would lose the ambience and detail of the story if I attempted that. I've succumbed to being in the moment with book I'm reading otherwise I get too carried away with all the others I plan to read. I try and commit to the adventure ahead and be loyal to the story. Thank you 😊 5mo

Jari-chan @Curiouser_and_curiouser That sounds great, too! Everybody has their own style and way to reading. Also, the amount of book one reads doesn't really matter, it's the joy of reading that matters 💝 5mo
Curiouser_and_curiouser @Jari-chan Absolutely! I'm a little over excited atm as it's been 16 years since I've read on a regular basis, and now that all of my kids are in school I just want to eat books up! But yes, enjoying them is all that matters and that is definitely what I am doing 😍 5mo
Jari-chan @Curiouser_and_curiouser That sounds great! I'm happy to hear that you've finally got some reading time again. Enjoy it to the fullest! ❤ 5mo

Another month, another TBR I‘ll never get through. My #AugustTBR is a lot of carry over from July, the rest of my #14books14weeks books. I‘m not holding out a lot of faith in making much progress this month - we‘re in the middle of a bunch of renos that at this point, seem like they‘ll never end.

Reasons why I love #August:

1. My #birthday 🦁
2. #NationalBookLoversDay 📚
3. They‘re both on the same date! 🎁❤️📕

#AugustTBR will include titles for #LitsyAtoZ, #ReadLikeRory (not pictured), and #HPBuddyRead (last one!)

Things I planned to read in August, some for my various reading groups, PLUS everything I didn‘t get to in June AND July. 🤷‍♀️ 😱 🤦‍♀️ 🤪

One day at a time, just keep reading, reading 🐠, and whatever I don‘t get to will get pushed back into September and October.🤣

I think Fall is going to have to be a series catching up plan. 📚🙈

Samplergal I feel your pain. And those library holds throw a wrench into all the plans. 6mo
bromeliad Well the Mueller Report will be a slog, but a lot of the ones you're showing here are quick reads, so hopefully it's not too overwhelming! You got this!! 🙌 6mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @bromeliad I‘ve been slowly working on that one since it came out...half the time I‘m determined to finish it, and half I‘m ready to DNF it, and it seems to depend on how disgusted I am while reading the previous section and how swamped the current political news is with inaction. 6mo

bromeliad Man, I hear you. I was looking up some pop psych tips for reducing daily anxiety/stress levels and one recurring tip was “stop following the news so closely. It's designed to trigger negative emotions to keep you engaged.“ And the politicians seem to be outrageously in cahoots across the aisle to protect Trump. 6mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @bromeliad Yes, That about sums it up. It‘s important and necessary to realize just how deep it all goes, I still believe knowledge is the best disinfectant, and yet so frustrating to realize we were attacked by a foreign country (and really still are being attacked) and one side of the aisle is so entrenched in protecting their guy, their status, whatever... that they don‘t want to even admit it happened let alone pass anything to prevent it. 6mo
bromeliad Well yeah, and then you have Pelosi's baffling trepidation...but yeah, I think this is going to end up being another Watergate, spending decades trying to figure out just how deep the rabbit hole goes. 6mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @bromeliad Yep, I agree..... we won‘t really know the whole story until long after it‘s in the past....sadly. But yes, I agree, I think the scandal runs deeper than anyone realizes. 6mo
JazzFeathers I'm sure you'll manage to read all that you've planned. You're one of the most fantastic readers l've ever known. 6mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @JazzFeathers Awww, I‘m so glad you think so, but I usually average about 12 a month and that usually includes counting some short stories, etc., so this list is about double that! So very high expectations for myself, LOL! But I‘m still glad you think I‘m a good reader, you‘re a pretty great reader yourself! 6mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Samplergal Yes, that plus all the great Litsy reading groups I decide to jump into that I didn‘t see coming. 😂 #BookishProblems, but still great problems to have. 6mo

So for the next few months I‘m switching up my TBR.

Last month I got really stressed out with my TBR and I hate when reading gets stressful!!

So this will be the books I choose from for the next few months! And I‘ll obviously be reading books not on here!

If you can‘t tell, basically when August hits I want to read autumn-ish books. I‘m reading for the reads, but NOT the autumn weather! 😊
