Last week, #TheChild in me lost her mind at Awesome Con, seeing the Star Trek TNG cast, actors from The Princess Bride, and meeting the voice actor from Jem! I had to buy a Pop from her, and followed it up with buying a Jem comic book this week. 😊😊😊

Megabooks Wow! This sounds really interesting! And your copy has a beautiful cover 😍😍😍🖖🏻 3w
Megabooks You know, I just realized I read this 15 years ago. I had a friend who was really into Heinlen. Crazy that I had forgotten that! (edited) 3w

I should have loved this book but for some reason I just couldn‘t connect with the parents. It‘s a ripped from the front page story about a school shooting and the aftermath. #StarTrekSummerMay #TheChild @Megabooks

8little_paws Interesting how they changed the cover. I really prefer the hardcover version. 3w
Cinfhen I don‘t think I‘ve seen that cover @8little_paws but this cover is sort of bland. 3w
Megabooks Hmmm... I have not liked the school shooting books I‘ve read so far. There was a recent kerfuffle in Indiana about teachers in multiple schools getting shot with non lethal rounds during lockdown drills! I never saw on the news if they got to why. They literally got the teachers on their knees and shot them execution style. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ 3w

Cinfhen You want it @Reviewsbylola ?!? 3w
Reviewsbylola Do you think I will like it? 😆 3w
Cinfhen Maybe?? @Reviewsbylola Definitely more than I did unless school shootings are a subject you don‘t want to read about?!!! I‘m happy to send it 😘 3w
Reviewsbylola Ok, send it on my way. I‘ll give it a shot. We all know I don‘t mind reading about school shootings. I just usually go the nonfiction route. The Sandyhook one is the book that really got to me. I remember watching the documentary about it afterward and being so depressed. 3w

#TheChild was TNG's episode 2.1, a recycled script from the never produced Phase II series, because of the screen writers strike. Not the best, yet another magical pregnancy story 🤮, with a pro-choice message rammed in there 👍. The original script was shot and you can see it here: https://youtu.be/aFyKrrF-obY

My child got his copy is Narwhal vol 4 Tuesday and has been reading it non stop since!

I actually enjoyed this episode of TNG, although many consider it a bad one. Marina Sirtis gave a wonderful, heartfelt performance, and I've always thought she was an underappreciated part of the show

@Megabooks

Megabooks Marina is better than she‘s given credit for. She‘s better than Gates, IMO, who who occasionally gets these weird dramatic accents. I was really glad the women on DS9 and Voyager got better parts. 3w

This is a favorite book for me to give at showers and early childhood birthdays. It‘s such a fun, creative book.

I have these friends, and their 4-year-old daughter took to their mudroom on the walls saying, “Hattie and the purple crayon!” while drawing with a...purple crayon! They kept it on the wall for years. 😂😂

I almost got this t-shirt at the recent Out of Print sale. Maybe next time! 😊💜🖖🏻

SkeletonKey I have this shirt 😅 3w

So I‘ve just finished this book and it‘s been absolutely brilliant!... I loved the way it followed each character (Kate was definitely my fave) and the ending was amazing... although nearer the end I did see it coming. I would definitely recommend giving it a read📖 #TheChild #FionaBarton

Andrew65 I also enjoyed 9mo

Pickpick

A workman demolishing an old house discovers human remains of a baby. Kate Waters, a reporter, unearths connections to a newborn stolen from a maternity ward decades earlier. Long buried secrets of three woman will finally come to light. This fast-paced thought provoking story kept me guessing to the very surprising ending. Some characters are likable but some not so likable. Recommended to those who like psychological suspense.

EadieB @libraryCin it‘s a pretty easy read but the surprise twist makes the end go fast! 9mo

I‘m nearly half way through The Child at the moment and I‘ve got to say it‘s brilliant up to now. I love the different perspectives that are portrayed throughout the book and the way it goes back and forth keeps you connected. It‘s so hard to put down you want to just keep reading and reading because you need to know what‘s going to happen next!

Andrew65 I enjoyed both The Child and The Widow, and both kept me wanting to read on and on and on... 10mo
Lauren_paige @Andrew65 I havnt come across the widow I‘ll have to read that next! The child is brilliant I can‘t wait to finish it! 10mo
Andrew65 @Lauren_paige Both excellent but if anything I preferred The Widow, but it might be because that was the first book of hers I read. 10mo
Lauren_paige @Andrew65 are The Child and The Widow in anyway similar? 10mo
