pickAnother series where I care more about the detectives than I do the mysteries, even with the inclusion of then Princess Elizabeth and her suitor Prince Phillip. Still, I have so much fun with these characters that I have the next couple of books ready and waiting for when I am next in the mood for a light, historical mystery.
pickTwo women who barely know each other start up a marriage bureau in London after WWII. When one of their clients is murdered and they suspect the wrong person has been jailed for the crime, the two start to investigate for themselves. Really enjoyed this palette cleanser. Fun banter and great side characters (I would read this for Sally alone#) made me it easy for me to buy the next two books in the series.
pickThis is my second Lane Winslow mystery and I am delighting in this series. I do so enjoy a period mystery but where the women get to be strong, capable, independent characters. The incorporation of WW2 and post-WW2 geopolitics raises the bar on these mysteries. Good fun, and love the interior BC setting

Like most of you, I enjoyed Professor Adler‘s story most, and was glad he and Nina had a happy ending. Resi‘s story was sad, and both Bimbo and Lucas were creeps. Krieger made my blood run cold. And Father Jahoda certainly had his finger in every pie.

pickVienna after WW2 as three characters return. I found it poignant and fascinating. I loved Adlers story the best ,the writing in his story seemed more beautiful to me.

pickThis excellent story centres on 3 people returning to Vienna Post ww2 for a new life. Pr Adler confronts nazi suspicion in his old lab in a brilliant scene. Kanakis is a rich exile who wants to buy property + surround himself in admirers. Resi is a beautiful teenager sent to family. Compelling read.
