1. Plan less. Read more of my favorite authors. Read more in Hungarian. Read more about different cultures.
2. I will be still reading War and Peace, but Surely You're Joking Mr Feynman should come in soon at the library.
3. Knitting while listening to audiobooks
4. Around the Year in 52 books, #LitsyClassics2018
5. My triangular lap pillow - holds up books so I don't have to

Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Lol! I would have never guessed! 😉Actually, I didn't, we never talked about it but I am not too surprised. I should just stop making a reading list and read yours! 6y
IWriteInTheNight I like your reading goals, mine are similar as well. I am currently reading Russian literature. Do you have any suggestions for Hungarian authors? 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice I was thinking something similar, instead of planning and making lists I should just read whatever you read next year! 😂 6y
BookishTrish @IWriteInTheNight I am into Russian lit too and am constantly curious about Hungarian lit. I can recommend 6y
BookishTrish This ones about a Hungarian family 6y
IWriteInTheNight @BookishTrish oh wow thanks so much!😍 id definitely check them out! May I ask which of the Russian books do you like? I am currently reading master and margarita have you read it? 6y
BookishTrish @IWriteInTheNight Absolutely! It's an amazing experience! I should really reread it sometime. My favourite Russian books (well some of them) are 6y
BookishTrish And many many many more that I can't think of off the top of my head 😁😜 6y
IWriteInTheNight @BookishTrish I am currently reading Anna karenina. We both have similar taste in Russian lit so now I feel I can ask you for recommendations😜. 6y
Wbabdullah #audioknitting and #audiocrafting rules! What a way to maximize time and relaxation!! 6y
Gezemice @IWriteInTheNight I am not really a good one to ask! I have been out of Hungary for 20 years and I will have to ask my old friends for recommendations myself. I meant that I want to read the books I inherited from my mother, most of which are Hungarian translations of world classics, and my childhood favorites. The most well-beloved Hungarian novel is The Stars of Eger, the translation is atrocious, however, and unfortunately titled 6y
Gezemice @IWriteInTheNight Another childhood favorite is The Paul Street Boys by Ferenc Molnár, I believe this has a good translation. Abigél by Magda Szabó was another favorite of mine but I am not sure if there is a translation. It is such a great YA novel, I think it would make a successful movie (it was a great mini-series in Hungary) 6y
Gezemice @IWriteInTheNight You are probably better off with @Bookishtrish 's recommendations, I will look at them myself, thanks! :) (edited) 6y
Gezemice @IWriteInTheNight Oh, the Litsy links are useless! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/420692.Eclipse_of_the_Crescent_Moon , unfortunately Abigel is not available in English but this has some English reviews https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1845128.Abig_l . I thought maybe I should translate it.... 6y
Gezemice @IWriteInTheNight @BookishTrish I love Anna Karenina, too! And anything by Dostoyevsky. Currently reading War and Peace. It is testing me but it is good. 6y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Maybe we can just share what we both are planning to read. Since I want to have less planned reading, I should have more time just to read whatever we both may like! 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Sounds like a plan. But let‘s share as we go, that way we can both follow our whims. I could plan out the whole year, but I know I won‘t stick to it, I couldn‘t even stick to my original AtoZ pucks last year. Maybe do our own book club of two email meet up with what‘s on our radar for each month...approximately/hopefully 6y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa That sounds like a good idea! Let's do it! 6y

A perfect evening. I'm mindlessly knitting stockinette while hanging with the girly and reading about dragons. 🐲
Now if only someone would start the Thanksgiving prep!

MrBook That's what @BookBabe does 😳! You two are #KindredSpirits 😎👍🏻. 6y
tpixie Welcome to Litsy!! 🎉📚🎉 6y

SandyW @MrBook @bookbabe ...That was supposed to read, although I try to put down the knitting when the plot becomes too engrossing! 6y
SandyW @tpixie Thanks! 6y
tpixie 😊 6y
MrBook Lol 😁👍🏻 6y
Texreader Welcome to Litsy!!! 6y
TK-421 Welcome to Litsy! 6y
robinb Welcome!! 🎉🎉🎉 6y
booklover76 You can knit and read?? I haven't mastered that trick yet!!! 😮 6y
SandyW @booklover76 I am a multi-talented woman! 😝 Seriously, it took lots of practice, and if the story gets too involved, I usually wind up having to frog a bit! 6y
julesG That's so me. I can knit stocking/stockinette or garter while reading but prefer #audioknitting. 😉 6y
SandyW @julesG I haven't really gotten into the Audubon thing yet. I usually listen to TED talks, if I'm listening, or music. But I'd MUCH rather sit with a book. 📖 6y
Mdargusch Nice job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼you are very talented! Welcome! I knit too, but I listen to audiobooks while I do it. 6y
SandyW @Mdargusch TY. It's really not that much of a talent though, you just get used to how the stitches feel under your fingers. 6y
kspenmoll Welcome to Litsy! 6y
SandyW @kspenmoll Thank you! It feels rather addictive. 😀 6y

I was very excited to find this reference to knitting pattern while knitting while reading about strange loops while knitting...

SheilaChew Nice! What are you knitting? 7y
well.read.panda @SheilaChew it's a piece for a yarnbombing installation I'm helping with. It'll have some letters sewn on to it and then be attached to a fence as part of a larger statement about LGBT rights and exclusion here in Singapore! 7y

SheilaChew So cool! There is a statue by my house that I've always wanted to yarn bomb! Last year a group of knitters yarn bombed the library. I loved it! 7y
well.read.panda @SheilaChew thanks!! 😁 7y

Pickpick

Amazing. Dana, a black woman living in the 1980s, gets pulled back in time to pre-Civil War Maryland to save the white boy who turns out to be her ancestor. Time travel mixed with slave narrative. Violent, tender, complicated, and heartbreaking. I loved it.

Pictured with latest knitting project - a hat for my daughter with my favorites yarn, Malabrigo. #knittersoflitsy

bookishkai Malabrigo is the best. So soft and smooshy. 7y
Lacythebookworm Love the yarn! 😍 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I finished that book recently too! So very good!! Glad you enjoyed it too. 7y
Dolly Pretty, and a multi ply too. I forgot Malabrigo has yarn other than singles. #knittersoflitsy ❤️ 7y

Knitting & reading - my favorite things.
The only thing I don't like about Kate Morton is that her stories are so good that I don't want to do anything else!

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled LOVE me some Kate Morton! I haven't read all her books because I think Im trying to savor each one and spread them out. 7y

I just started this book - trying not to be bogged down by the names, hoping the story picks up. I'm about to finish knitting this baby hat.

Beginnings & endings.
