The irises in our backyard are just gorgeous right now! On the left, #CampLitsy24 June picks and some from the longlist. It was an embarrassment of riches as always!

In the center, the two I picked up on #IndependentBookstoreDay. One Japanese in translation plus a short story collection (of course). Have you read the Japanese one @BarbaraBB ?

Though I didn‘t get any reading done over the weekend, my cousins and I celebrated #IndependentBookstoreDay across Friday, Saturday and Sunday! We hit 20 stores across #Chicagoland and this is my exciting #bookhaul from our trip! Tons of fun, lots of laughs and fun exploring stores and towns new to all of us, along with revisiting some local favorites! We already can‘t wait celebrate again next year!! A huge thanks to all the shops!!

Visited 5 book stores yesterday for #independentbookstoreday (and AtX is truly blessed because that is just a fraction of local indie booksellers - plus we didn‘t even go to the biggest one tbh)… definitely over indulged (pictured is a sampling of my #bookhaul lol)
Great time was had and am looking forward to all of these books!

Two used books and two new ones….but my new favorite purchase is this bag. My shopping experience for #independentbookstoreday was enhanced by the annual Vermont Maple Festival. So fun!

#IndependentBookstoreDay and more...

Middle stack are the books I bought in Libreria Laberinto (Labyrinth Bookstore) located in Old SJ. They specialized in books in Spanish but also has books in English. I can find those Spanish books from different countries difficult to find in other local bookstores. Books in Spanish can be pretty expensive many comes from Spain.
Right stack-books from a charity store also in SJ. Not too cheap but⬇️

Left stack-books I bought in eBay and they arrived today!! That bookmark describes my social life-where I go and spend my money

Don't Fear the Reaper | Stephen Graham Jones

@WildAlaskaBibliophile is working today, but I've still got a busy day. Woke up way too early, so I built our new dinner table and chairs. Made a couple trips to the dump, and passed this eagle. Long overdue deep clean for the car. Obligatory celebration of #independentbookstoreday and a quick brewery stop before finishing my errands and hopefully squeezing in a quick nap 😉

Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop | Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania (Bookstore)

Happy #IndependentBookstoreDay ! I had to visit my favorite indie bookstore and partake of their massive sale. I think I scored some pretty great sounding books.
