Thanks for the tag, @julieclair and @TheSpineView !

Three of my bookish quirks (I‘ve got more - I could write a book!):

1. I have to alphabetize bookshelves, even when visiting a library or bookstore - call it the librarian in me!

2. I have to read in series order. When I don‘t, I feel like I‘m missing something!

3. I do everything I can to avoid cracking paperback spines. I‘m not a fan of the cracked spine. #TLT

TheSpineView You're welcome! Me too on #3 2mo
dabbe #1: Do you alpha by title or author? #curious
#2: That drives me crazy, too!
#3: That's smart; otherwise, you'll have to tape it back together again! 🤩😍😃

Librarybelle @TheSpineView @dabbe I like the spines to look as new as possible. Though, I have plenty of paperbacks I bought as used paperbacks that are well loved. And Denise, I alphabetize by author and then title if I have books by the same author. 2mo

monkeygirlsmama Same for 2 and 3! 2mo
Librarybelle @monkeygirlsmama 😁 I‘m so far behind on the Gamache series by Louise Penny, but I refuse to read the latest without reading the 6 others I need to read! 2mo
DHill #2 - Same!! 2mo
Librarybelle @DHill Yes! Glad I‘m not the only one! 2mo
Deblovestoread Same for 1, 2 and 3. And holding The Brothers Karamazov is challenging that effort! 2mo
Librarybelle I know, @Deblovestoread ! I cradle the spine of my copy of #TheBros as much as I can so it doesn‘t even show the slightest indentation! 😂 2mo
Mollyanna I am so with you on 2. I even have to read the half steps in order. (edited) 2mo
dabbe @Librarybelle I tried by genres and hated it. I think I'll go your route next. 🤩 2mo
Librarybelle @Mollyanna I get so annoyed when I miss one of the “in between” stories or mistakenly read it in the wrong sequence! 2mo
Librarybelle @dabbe I debater separating out by fiction and nonfiction but decided against that. It works for me just having everything alphabetical by author. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2mo
Gissy I too try not to crack the spine either. Sometimes it is so hard to read the book because they are not floppy editions. I also organize my read books like you but those unread books, I organize them by genre. 2mo
LiseWorks I am the same with series, I have to read in order and yes it's because I might miss something 2mo
Librarybelle I know, @Gissy ! I sometimes have issues reading the print near the inside spine 😂 2mo
Librarybelle @LiseWorks That‘s what makes the #InDeathLongReadalong so good - we‘re reading them in order!! 2mo
Mollyanna I am with you! I sort my books by non-fiction vs fiction. Seems to work for me. 2mo
Librarybelle @Mollyanna I may eventually sort by nonfiction and fiction once I have all of my books sorted, but alphabetizing by author works for me so far. I do have bookcases and shelves throughout the house that focus on a specific series, or in the case of one of my bookcases, only nonfiction. 2mo
Mollyanna I am the same with the bookshelves throughout the house (one NF, one classics, one sports/entertainment). My “library” (one of the extra bedrooms) is where the majority of my books are and I have one bookshelf dedicated to NF (sorted by topic) and the remainder are fiction by author. The system seems to work when I‘m looking for something. I do reorg once in a while as it‘s fun just to play with all the books. 2mo
Librarybelle @Mollyanna Yes! It‘s so much fun to move the books around. My “library” is also an extra bedroom. ❤️ 2mo
Mollyanna Great minds… 😊❤️😊 2mo
julieclair #2 I'm the same, except for cozy mysteries, where I don't mind hopping around. 2mo
Librarybelle @julieclair It is a little easier with cozies, but I still much prefer reading them in order 😂 2mo
BookNAround I call foul here. These aren‘t quirks! These are the way to have a proper and ordered universe. 😉 2mo

Bailedbailed

I‘m bailing on this one. The writing is quite funny and smart, but there isn‘t enough plot to keep me going for the whole novel. I kept waiting for the case to begin. It just isn‘t my thing.

Meh. The main character is not a very easy character to love. #lgbtq (ish?)the end was the best part.

Pickpick

Normally this would make me come over all Relationship Advice Dalek (COMM-UNI-CATE! COMM-UNI-CATE!) but they are stupid in so normal a way I let it slide right now. If you get embarrassment squick from stupid misunderstandings this may not be for you, though. It turned out cute enough to work overall, for me.
