Last Thursday I couldn‘t get to work as the trains were down. It‘s never happened in my 20 years at my current job. I made it a treat myself day. First stop was the local Little Free Library. I also visited St Paul‘s Thrift Shop Stockton and Starter Stories, the yummy sourdough bakery there where I spent $60 on treats! My tummy was sore the next day after dieting for so long for my showgirl performance. It was a shame it was windy and rainy.

pickA very broad overview that covers just about everything on a small farm. There is some excellent information contained in this book. There is some that is definitely outdated. Having it on the shelf as a reference won't wasted space.
So… not book related but today is my 3rd day of retirement. After 27 years, I had my opportunity to retire and I took it. I look forward to the next chapter and more time to read!

pickIt‘s super hard to review all three books together, because my enjoyment varied greatly from book one to book three! This had been on my list for a while, since my MIL recommended the series to me. And initially my question was WHY did anyone ever think this would make a good series?!?! This question persisted for me throughout the first book and a half, which read like a mildly interesting description of rural village life in the late 1800s. ⤵️
When I searched for this, it brought up another book with the same title and the subtitle: “Grace for Every Kind of Broken.“ That kind of fits this too. It's a quiet, slightly mystical, very sentimental story in which every character learns how to be a better, more loving person through some kind of grace passing amongst them. A comfortable read right now.
