For #April I chose 2 and I finally have some fantasy/mythology my fave genres! #12booksof2021 #4thbookof2021

Too hard to decide between these two that I loved so much!

Dark Shores is everything I wanted in a high seas adventure with strong female characters, fun plot twists and crazy moments!

The Song of Achilles was such a moving and fantastic story. I‘m now a huge fan of Millers between this book and Circe!

#4thBookof2021 I really enjoy Lisa Gardner‘s books. This was one of a few 5⭐️ books from #April.
#5thBookof2021 Quite a few 4 1/2⭐️reads in May but only one 5⭐️. I listened to this for #PotterADay and Jim Dale captivates me every time. ⚡️

#12booksof2021 #4thbookof2021 #April

I had a major reading slump in April and only reported 4 books read for the month. The Booker Prize winner was the best of them, but I didn't like it enough for it to make my #Top21of21 list.

@Andrew65

Ruthiella I found this book pretty hard to read due to the subject matter. But I think it will stick with me. 2y
CarolynM @Ruthiella It was abit of an emotional assault, wasn't it? I think I didn't let myself get as invested in it as it probably deserved. 2y
Cathythoughts ❤️ 💔 A heartbreaking book. 2y

This was hard, but I have decided on my favorite book for #April #4thbookof2021
#12Booksof2021

Honorable mentions: “No One Is Talking About This” by Patrica Lockwood, “Transcendent Kingdom” av Yaa Gyasi and “Small Pleasures” av Clare Chambers

Andrew65 It is had to only choose one isn‘t it. 2y
AnneCecilie @Andrew65 For some months it‘s really hard. But as I do this, I realize how diversely I have read. Non of my tagged favorites so far are white Europeans/ Americans. (edited) 2y
Andrew65 @AnneCecilie It is a good way of reviewing our reading over 2021. 2y

I‘m trying to not show the same books I featured in my top 21. Here is my favorite read of April. This book was a lot of fun and great on audio.

Well it looks like I only read 3 books in #April and none overly amazed me so by process of elimination I'm going to go with Shadow and Bone. It's a good story, don't get me wrong, but not really my favourite fantasy world.

For me the #April #12Booksof2021 can only be the 7th book in the Matilda Darke series. What a heart stopping roller-coaster ride, has totally stayed with me 8 months on and think it was my crime fiction book of the year.
Totally recommend this series! #4thBookof2021

And it beat four other great 5 stars that month, Twisted Lies : Angela Marsons, The Midnight Library : Matt Haig, Left You Dead : Peter James, Where the Crawdads Sing : Delia Owens

TrishB This looks like a good series 👍🏻 just got the first one for free! It was on Amazon prime when I went to buy. (edited) 2y
Andrew65 @TrishB It is and is set in Sheffield. Michael is very responsive on Twitter. The follow-up was excellebt too, amazed this series isn‘t better known. The vagaries of the book works. Hope you enjoy it. 2y
Andrew65 Even better that it was free @TrishB 2y

Andrew65 @Tove_Reads So do I, a new one in May. 2y
eanderson This is a series I need to get back into. I read the first 2. 2y
Andrew65 @eanderson Well worth it but books 7 and 8, wow! 8 will likely make my list too. 2y

My #4thBookOf2021 for #April is this brilliant horror book by Christina Henry. I really liked her Alice series, but this book was an edge-of-your-seat white knuckle ride from the 1st page. I ended up tearing through it in 2hrs, I just couldn‘t put it down. The ending was worth every second. Highly highly recommend. #12BooksOf2021
