A couple of weeks ago I rounded up all of the historical fiction I had on my tbr. Well today it‘s time for fantasy/sci-fi. Honestly, I figured I‘d have a bigger stack than this. So maybe I am doing a good job at thinning down my tbr.

Maybe that means I should buy a few more books? 😂😂😂😂

I started the year at a good rip, met my Goodreads goal, then hit a brick wall in my brain… I still managed to have some favorites. 🤩🤩

Here are my top 12 picks (favorite reads) for 2022. I‘ve noted which ones I ear-read, rather than eye-read. I know in at least 1 instance, it made a difference (Paris!). And yes, a romance novel made the list!

I am so so thrilled to have finished this one! Admittedly, I did think the first 20% and last 20% had the best content and were paced better, but I am still really pleased with the ending of the book. I don't think I can give anything spoilerfree to say, but am glad some of my suspicions from the previous book turned out to be correct! I'll probably read all the novellas now.

The end of the year is right around the corner, and I still have quite a large tbr. But these three are going to be my priority(if I ever finish Words of Radiance). What book do you need to catch up on before 2023?

Now caught up on this series! I really liked this latest installment in the Skyward series - a YA Space Opera. Our heroine ends up in a mysterious place and we meet a whole new cast of characters. Though the first third was quite slow, once we start meeting new characters the story really becomes fun. The last 25% is action packed and emotional. 4⭐️

Loving this series but of the three books so far this was my least favourite but still really good.

🥺😖😫 I‘m sad this book is over and frustrated I have to wait until next year for the conclusion!! I know some have said this is the weakest in the series so far… idk maybe it is, but I loved it anyway! I listened to this on audio and the reader is, once again, phenomenal. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A satisfyingly ingenious science fiction/fantasy series that went in a surprising direction with this third installment. The “Nowhere” is where Spensa ends up for this book and it‘s not what you‘d be expecting…not that a place called the Nowhere really says a lot about what it could be. It was actually vibing with The Hollow Places a little bit. Strange but totally unique.

"I sure hoped I survived, because Gran-Gran really needed to add this story to her repertoire. Children in the future were going to insist my adventures were too outlandish—and therefore I wasn't an actual historical person, but one that was obviously made up, like Gilgamesh or David Bowie."

Think the quote sums up the book pretty nicely. ???

What a great way to spend a cold, snowy and windy Sunday! However, I don‘t know why I thought Sanderson would wrap up this series on the third book. 🤔 I guess I thought it was a trilogy…? Anyways, the good news is that I can look forward to another book! The bad news is that now I have to wait till he writes the next one! 🤣

Got some sci-fi reading in during my lunch break today! Degrees in the 50s and bright sunshine feels great! My favorite quote so far is the following: “It‘s curious, isn‘t it? It‘s like…people are all a little more real when they‘re together. Maybe together we remind one another what it is to be alive. To have a family.”
