The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane
The Little Christmas Shop on Nutcracker Lane | Jaimie Admans
6 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
Nia Maddison has always believed that wishes come true on Nutcracker Lane. So, when she gets the opportunity to run her own Christmas gift shop on the most magical street in town, it feels like her wishes have been finally granted.
But working late one night, Nia discovers yet another boyfriend has cheated on her. As she trudges home – alone, again – she passes the (supposedly) magical nutcracker and half-joking thinks a wish cannot hurt. Cracking a nut in its mouth, she wishes to find Prince Charming.
The next day Nia gets to work to find another decoration shop has opened directly across the lane from her own, and she cannot resist having a nose around.
Whilst there, she accidentally backs into a human-sized Nutcracker, knocking it over and breaking it. Mortified, she flees from the store but when she gathers her resolve to go back and apologize, she stumbles across the gorgeous shop owner James, who looks exactly like Prince Charming…
Could her Christmas wish from the night before really be coming true?

This was a lovely book to finish out my Christmas reads this season. A sweet romance set in a whimsical Christmas market. I loved the suggestion of magic without it being farfetched. I want to visit Nutcracker Lane 💕

Keeping it lighthearted and romantic this new year, my last read of 2021 was the tagged and my first read of 2022 is the next installment of the Brown sisters.

Combo #WinterGames points post and #BookReport -

13,613 points for week one, mainly because of this crazy word search! The tagged book netted me 723 words just on its own!!

I read the pictured books, plus The Christmas Escape, which I already returned to the library. I think that one was actually my favorite for the week - a nice balance between Christmas fluff and some real issues, while still staying festive and fun. Five books in five days⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) puts me ahead of my page goal for the month and has brought me back up to only four books behind on my GR goal for the year, so I'm feeling really good about catching that up before December 31. I did DNF two books that were on my #BookSpinBingo board - A Season for Second Chances just didn't jive with me (despite enjoying The Twelve Dates of Christmas so much last year that I'm rereading it this year), & The Christmas Room was just... ⬇ 2y
OriginalCyn620 Awesome! 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) not Christmasy?? I was over a hundred pages in and still no sign of Christmas and I honestly didn't really like anyone. Seriously, when the dude meets the chick for the first time (not a first date, their first time EVER TALKING) he asks her if she's still a virgin!? The whole book just had this weird vibe that wasn't for me, so I gave up a little over a hundred pages in & sent it off to a new home via Paperback Swap.

I'm not sure ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) I will have as much reading time this next week (I was home all of last week after a Covid contact... all is well), but am so enjoying my month of mostly lighthearted reads, plus seeing what all everyone else is into.

I'm not posting an official #WeeklyForecast this month... I have my list of potential reads for the month & am letting the random number generator decide which one comes next!!

Last year I read Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm by this author (who apparently struggles to use fewer than ten syllables in her titles) and was pleasantly surprised by the likable characters, fun shenanigans, and the hunky Scottish Christmas tree farmer. So when I saw this one for 99c I went for it. If you're looking for in-depth character development, surprising plot twists, or a new take on the holiday season, this is NOT the ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) book for you. But if you're looking for some relaxing fluff and complete predictability, you'll love this one. This filled a lot of those “Scrooge character“ kinds of prompts on my bingo boards. I will say that it was SO obvious who James really was that it felt borderline ridiculous that Nia didn't figure it out, but still I really enjoyed this one overall and can see myself rereading it next year. 2y
Allylu I'm reading Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm this year! 2y

Hey friends!! I know a lot of us are excited about #WinterGames and I am on the hunt for happy, fluffy reads. However, I'm also up for some holiday mysteries or nonfiction or whatever!! I thought we could use #WinterGamesReads to share bargains we find and/or books we've enjoyed in years past that others might like to try. For instance, the tagged book is only 99¢ as a Kindle book right now. Hope to see your recommendations - please repost!!

TheAromaofBooks PS Yes, that photo is from a wintry drive last February - boy did we get some snow!!! 😂 3y
Deblovestoread Great idea! I‘ve already started my December BookSpin list with holiday books from my tbr…I‘m just a little excited…😁 3y

TheAromaofBooks @Kdgordon88 - I actually have a list that I made last December, comprised of books other people were reviewing for 2020's WinterGames that I thought sounded fun haha I've managed to collect some of them on the cheap from ebay and PaperbackSwap this year!! 3y
Blerdgal_Fenix Royal Holiday by Jasmine Gulliory 3y
