17 posts | 22 read | 4 to read
As the sun sets behind the big construction site, all the hardworking trucks get ready to say goodnight. One by one, Crane Truck, Cement Mixer, Dump Truck, Bulldozer, and Excavator finish their work and lie down to restso they'll be ready for another day of rough and tough construction play! With irresistible artwork by best-selling illustrator Tom Lichtenheld and sweet, rhyming text, this book will have truck lovers of all ages begging for more. This New York Times best seller is a really cute MF CL and RA to share in your classroom. This book is about different construction trucks getting ready for night time after a long day. https://www.childrenslit.com/ This UDL utilizes 8.3 (Foster collaboration and community) community through community builders in books and EL # 5 (teach technical vocab) teaching about excavators, trucks, community, etc Faith Cella #UCFLAE3414SP21

DrSpalding You have 10 posts noted on time faith! Be sure to expand a bit on your summaries and explain your resource and how it aligns to your English learner and universal design principles. Great start! 3y

In this P picture book, you follow the big and tough construction vehicles one by one as they go through a hard day's work and then fall asleep at night. The book itself rhymes and contains personification, as the vehicles are humanlike. This book is absolutely adorable and so great for learning about what goes on at a construction site. This book would be an excellent RT, as students can take on roles as the different trucks and act it out.

Kyleigh_J Vooks has a great resource for this book that could be used in the classroom to make personal connections. The students could fill out their personal nighttime routine at home or after completing the RT in class. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5a29c9eef09ca48b52cafc06/t/5dc20a30df7fe8... UDL 4.1 Vary the methods for response and navigation is satisfied by this lesson plan. 4y
Kyleigh_J The students are completing the RT which is a dramatic and physical task and then doing an activity afterward to assess comprehension. EL 5 teach technical vocabulary supporting key concepts is satisfied as the lesson plan includes vocabulary cards that should be taught before the book is read. #UCFLAE3414SP20 4y

A final post before Litsy goes down for the planned server migration. Lucky for me, 3AM EST is 9PM here, so only for the first couple of hours I'll have withdrawals and then I'll be sleeping through most of it--if it does finish up in 8 hours or so.🤞🏻 🐱Max is already sleeping. (Big surprise!) We'll see you on the flip side. #catsoflitsy 😽❤️ #Litsyapocalypse

Kalalalatja It is 9 am here, so I‘ll get all the withdrawals 😂 6y

We‘ve started the remodel on our 1984 Circulation front desk and work room- hooray!
It was L O U D today, and we ended up 2 people short at Circ. I‘m happy to be home with my tea and book, and soon the kiddos will be sleeping...

We are at the end of the Dutch Children's Books week and this was probably Pim's favourite. Even if the Dutch translation does not always offer perfect prose.

RealLifeReading This was definitely a favourite in my house when my kids were a bit younger. They both know it by heart ! 7y
