pickI don‘t play video games or Dungeons and Dragons. I do read fantasy. The audience for this is clearly people who do all of that. Despite that, I loved this story of Yui Shaw going on a quest to defeat a demon king and leveling up along the way. It was tons of fun. There were some things I wouldn‘t have understood, but my husband listened to this with me, and he does do video games and D & D. I still think it would have been fun without his input.
My walk was very short today, but it was hot out there and I was pushing my husband‘s wheelchair. It was good to get him outside like that. I have no idea why those watermelons are in the bay! I am not at all the audience for this book as I don‘t play role playing games or Dungeons & Dragons, but I‘m still finding it to be a lot of fun. #audiowalk
pickThis was such a fun story! It was a clever twist on a hero's journey and I liked the way magic worked in this world. Plus! I've been thisclose to finishing this pattern for 3 weeks and I finally had time to finish it today! #audiostitching and days off are the best. 😊
pickYui Shaw sets out with an ambitious plan. She'll find a way to obtain the Hero's legendary sword. She'll earn obscure classes, gain levels, and increase her skills. If you like RPG then this is the book for you! It reads just like a play through for a video game. Complete with acquiring new associates, increasing skill levels and unraveling the story of the Hero and Demon King. Some parts were a bit predictable but the book was still cute.
So.. I would say its not my typical Genre because it is more like a Dungeons and Dragons type of quest. She and her friend go around looking to “level up“ so that she can be considered a Hero so she can slay the Demon King. Anyway, its not like I don't read fantasy -- maybe not a lot... but this was super role-player game like the it just wasn't a typical “me“ book. #TBRCrewBingo
