Tenby - A Seaside Holiday
Tenby - A Seaside Holiday | Philip Henry Gosse

Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.

Visited Tenby last week for the first time, spending four days there. It was a nice place but you could easily walk around it in one day. Luckily the weather was good. I'm not certain what we would have done all day if it had been raining.

Still in Pembrokeshire for the virtual tour, with pictures of beautiful Tenby.

How has Tuesday been? Now in England (or from 4th July) no longer needs to be 2metres, suddenly 1 metre is enough. 😳 Also pubs, Restaurants , libraries etc open from 4th July along with B+B and caravan and camping parks. Good developments or worrying developments?

#DailyCheckIn

IamIamIam 😬😬 That does not sound kosher to me. I guess it depends on rate of transmission which is what NY has been judging our reopening status by. If you don't need to go out, don't! See what happens 2 weeks after July 4! Lol... doing better today. I shopped for ulcer friendly foods and I'm making an effort! I also passed 1 kid on to my mom for a few days!!! Lol, the inmates need to be separated! 🤣 Love to all today! 4y
BookwormM Busy day work definitely picking up I may be able to have 1 staff member back from furlough part time next month 4y

Andrew65 @IamIamIam Well done on the steps to help manage the ulcer. 😊👍 4y
Andrew65 @BookwormM Yes I had a very busy work day too! 4y
Birdsong28 Where I work we are keeping the 2 metre rule so that is good but whether customers keep to it is a different matter as they have always been doing whatever they want 😠 Since I have gone back on the 1st I have been shouted at and some of my colleagues have been sworn at as well. 😠😠 4y
IamIamIam @Andrew65 Thanks! How are things on the school front for you guys? 4y
Ms_T I‘m cautiously optimistic that these measures are a good move. We need to dip our toes in and get back to a kind of normal. If cases spike, I‘d have no problem with locking down again 🤞🏻 4y
quietlycuriouskate I would dearly love to be on Caldey Island right now! As for the "relaxed" social distancing measures, I personally don't feel at all relaxed about it and won't be taking any chances for the time being. ? 4y
TrishB I‘m a bit scared it‘s a bit quick and if you read the medics/scientists viewpoint they are worried too. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 4y
TrishB @Birdsong28 I can‘t understand anyone who shouts at people in shops etc! I would be wanting to shout back! ❤️ 4y
CocoReads 3.5 more hours of work today. It hasn‘t been bad but it hasn‘t been all that great either. Weve been on relaxed social distancing for a bit now but not me. I‘m still hanging back. We‘re having a small 4th of July party at my sisters but it‘s just her family, my family, and our parents. That‘s about all I can handle right now. 4y
veritysalter We‘re shielding, so the big change comes for us on August 1st, to be quite honest, I‘m frightened. 4y
kezzlou85 @Birdsong28 my friend has said the same thing. She works for a supermarket and the abuse they get is awful. There's absolutely no need for it. 4y
kezzlou85 Well no car still but hopefully tomorrow. Had a nice chill out in the garden though until it got too hot. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Oh to be on the beach surrounded by salty air! Today has been quiet, so I reached out to some clients and did a bit of research on potential new ones. I think I'm going to pause the last bit of work until later to take advantage of the quiet and get my reading time in! I guess we can't wait forever to open up. I've been cautious and will remain so for a while longer. Other than food, I don't NEED to shop and crowded places weren't fun before. 4y
Andrew65 @Birdsong28 Totally unforgivable. 😡 4y
Andrew65 @Ms_T I can‘t see us locking down again, only on a localised level as country can‘t afford it. Whatever they said these decisions are being made on economic grounds. 4y
Andrew65 @kathedron Most people will follow your example but clearly a lot that already aren‘t. 4y
Andrew65 @TrishB I‘d agree, too fast without seeing the impact of other measures. As you saying scientists are shaking their heads. Schools in LA only be open about a week. Already 2 have had to shut and another possibly that I know of on the horizon depending on a test result. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @veritysalter You‘re not alone in this. Obviously more difficult where shielded people are employed. All a big mess in my humble opinion, decisions driven by economy and what country can afford. Lives feel secondary. (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @CocoReads I worry for our pubs that reopen on 4th July. 😬 A lot of people will still be very guarded. 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 Totally agree! 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 And boy did it get hot! 4y
Andrew65 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Caution seems the way to go. Enjoy your reading. 4y
CocoReads @Andrew65 yes, some places are still only doing curbside pickup. My daughters office opened back up but not the building she works in and with the other rules she said she‘s going to keep working from home until it‘s all open. She actually may never go back to the office again. 4y
Andrew65 @IamIamIam School going okay but very minimal number of year 6 returned. Some schools been opened just over a week, unlike us, and already two have had to close out of around 100. Been quite nice to get some normality and have spent the last two days in school. (edited) 4y
TheSpineView I tend to be cautious so I have not been eating out or shopping other than the grocery store. In general avoiding crowds. Let the other take risks. Had a good day though wet. 4y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView I‘m following the same principles, although can‘t eat out till 4th July, but nit doing take away either. Only food we cook ourselves. 4y
TheSpineView @Andrew65 Same with me. I'm not too lazy to cook and you just don't know if someone is sick and not showing symptoms. 4y
Andrew65 @TheSpineView Exactly, better safe than sorry. 4y
Itchyfeetreader I am no scientist but I do remember the basics and that was only test one hypothesis at a time. I am beyond frustrated by the uk gvt position. I respect and understand commitment to jobs and the economy BUT it all feels so very fast for us all. For me personally I am confused beyond belief ... but plus side enjoying the weather ! Stay safe x 4y
tracey38 Basically my days are the same: same thing, different day. Our COVID numbers are going up dramatically but they are still trying to open up more and more things. And so many are fighting the simplest protocols, like wearing masks. It's ridiculous. It just makes you sick of most everyone. I still pretty much go to work, grocery, pharmacy when I have to, gas station. Other than that, I'm home. 4y
Andrew65 @Itchyfeetreader I‘d agree, trying to rush things too much, we still have 1000+ cases every day and that‘s before these changes. 😳 4y
Andrew65 @tracey38 Very similar, like Groundhog Day! Can‘t believe people fighting things, or taking stupid actions! 😡😡😡 4y
TheBookHippie I got books from curbside library yay! I checked in on booksupply bags that go out to kiddos it‘s looking good. Supposed decision for school to be announced the 30th. I was out saw NO ONE IN MASKS BUT ME 🤦🏽‍♀️ 4y
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie Very worrying indicators. The figures in some states of US not looking good unfortunately. 😔 4y
gradcat @Andrew65 Kind of scary to me, that you guys are lifting restrictions...but maybe it‘s because we‘re going up again? I mean, our cases are creeping back up because of our idiot president, imho...but I agree with @TheBookHippie & @tracey38 : Nobody—but NOBODY—is wearing a mask!! Stupid! I look like some freak compared to everyone around me...why is everyone so willing to court this virus? Omigod!! 4y
gradcat @Birdsong28 Oh. My. God. People are yelling & swearing at you guys? This is such an atrocious way to treat someone who is out there and helping the who? The shouter & the swearer!! Such horrible behavior...are these people adults? 😣 4y
TheBookHippie @gradcat they think COVID isn‘t real 🤦🏽‍♀️ I agree with you‘re opinion on the president. 4y
Birdsong28 @gradcat Yes it is atrocious behaviour and we just have to ride it out and get on with our day it really sucks as it is for their health as much as mine and my colleagues but they just see it as us stopping them going about the shop as normal. We have a one way system in place and some people just can't follow simple instructions. 😠😠📚📖 4y
tracey38 @Andrew65 @gradcat They think having them wear a mask is taking away their rights. When it's just asking them to keep society safe. Good grief, it isn't all about them. It makes me so angry. It could be so much worse for them, it's ridiculous. 4y
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie @gradcat I really don‘t get how they can say it isn‘t real. That comment on testing was 😳 4y
Andrew65 @tracey38 I wear a mask and have shopped in it for three months even when government line was don‘t wear a mask. Protects everyone! 4y
TheBookHippie @Andrew65 par for the course with him 🤪🤦🏽‍♀️ 4y
gradcat @Andrew65 And then when his minions attempted to walk back that idiotic statement re testing? He said, “I never kid.” What a complete idiot! @Birdsong28 Are you across the pond in Britain like our Andrew? Wherever, keep your head up and never mind the grumpy, shouting public...you & your colleagues are to be respected for going out there and working and helping others. So there! 😂 4y
gradcat @tracey38 & @TheBookHippie I agree with both of you: we have a narcissistic, pathological president who thinks he‘s the emperor, and all those who follow him flout all kinds of logical common sense. It flies in the face of rational thinking, and it makes me so angry also. How can people not understand that they may hurt others? What‘s wrong with people? Just call me a grumpy old biddy, because I‘m fast becoming exactly that...😤 4y
Birdsong28 @gradcat Yes I am in Britain. Thank you for your support ❤️ 📚 📖 4y
gradcat @Birdsong28 I mean it wholeheartedly. I always thought we Americans were the badly behaved ones...so surprised to hear it‘s bad there, and so sorry that you have to deal with it. ♥️♥️♥️ 4y
