The Last Decade

So this #MayBeNow post shows where my focus went! (Anticlockwise!) Little guy in top right born in 2010. Went back to work and put in charge of social media - got deep in the Twitterverse -eyes opened about a lot of political issues (hi Jacinda!). Made a massive life change in 2014 and gave up my job to be full time Mum/part time in family business - made lots of crazy new friends, discovered podcasts and through them the bookish internet. 🙌

Centique Did writing courses and finally finished a novel (which is still terrible and never to be published) and supported a bunch of people through illness - new opportunities I loved when I stopped working huge hours. 🙏 4y

Centique @Reggie it‘s so weird because I‘m on the hold list at the library for a physical copy but they don‘t have the ebook, the shops here don‘t have it and it‘s not even available on Audible or Kindle. You go ahead my friend because it will take at least 6 weeks for the library to come through. But I‘ll tell you what I think when I get there! 4y

Reggie @Centique turns out we weren‘t on the list of phase 1 openings so we worked for 2 days and then went back home but they‘re hoping early June. And, oh please, you‘re talking to the guy whose reading eyes are bigger than his reading stomach. I have plenty of other books to keep occupied with until you‘re ready. Today I actually went to Santa Fe to a book store since quarantine became a thing and it felt great. Got some books. Was really nice. 4y

#MayBeNow #PartyTime | The 2010s were quite a whirlwind!

2010 - moved to Wisconsin 🧀
2012 - had our first son 🍼
2013 - moved to Utah ⛰
2014 - had our second son 🍼
2015 - moved to Tennessee 🪕 and made a permanent (I think) home

PS. I miss my super short hair.

I may be late for #MayBeNow 😆 but I thought I‘d look through the artists I loved enough in the 2010s to actually purchase their albums. It‘s pretty middle of the road!
Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, OneRepublic, Alessia Cara, Rhianna, Savage, Sara Bareilles, Drax Project, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Gin Wigmore, Pink, Imagine Dragons, Charlie Puth, James Bay, The Madden Bros, Khalid, Macklemore, Sigrid, Maroon 5.

Centique I think the artist I have most consistently listened to over this 10 years has been Rihanna. Somehow there is a song on every album I fall totally in love with - and each fave is so different from the others😍 Love on the Brain is possibly my favourite song of the decade. (edited) 4y

Hooked_on_books I haven‘t paid much attention to music over the past few years, but I had a time when I was stuck in dreadful Portland traffic and Locked out of Heaven came on the radio. I suddenly didn‘t care at all about the traffic and did some serious car dancing. I find that song really uplifting. Such a good beat. 4y
