Bared to You: A Crossfire Novel
Bared to You: A Crossfire Novel | Sylvia Day
Bared to You by Sylvia Day is the first in the Crossfire trilogy featuring Gideon and Eva, two wounded souls who come together in an explosion of lust and passion as intoxicating as it is devastating - the perfect read for fans of bestselling erotic romance Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. Our journey began in fire . . .Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness - beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily . . .Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds . . . and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart . . .Intensely romantic, darkly sensual and completely addictive, Bared to You will take you to the very limits of obsession - and beyond.Sylvia Day is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling authorof over a dozen novels written across multiple sub-genres - contemporary, fantasy, historical, futuristic, science fiction, romantic suspense, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy - under multiple pen names: three! A wife and mother of two, she is a former Russian linguist for the U.S. Army Military Intelligence."Bared to You has an emotional feel similar to Fifty Shades of Grey . . . It is full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, and a compelling story line" Dear Author"While it is true that Bared to You has much in common with Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You is a more complete story, one that is better written. The characters are better developed and the story is far sexier. This is an erotic romance that should not be missed. It will make readers fall in love" Romance Novel News"The secondary characters are just as flawed as Eva and Gideon, which makes Bared to You richer and more real to me than many of the contemporary books I've read in a while" Romance Junkies"This is a sophisticated, provocative, titillating, highly erotic, sexually driven read and is extremely well done. I enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey, but I loved Bared to You" Swept Away by Romance"This book was just incredible. I couldn't put it down! The sex was so hot and the relationship was so juicy that I just had to know what was coming next!" Read Our Lips"It literally blew my mind and after finishing it, I wasn't able to stop thinking about it! . . . Bared to You is an intense novel full of hardships, heartbreak, overcoming obstacles, trust, and most of all . . . trying to find love in a relationship that may seem hopeless. I truly and wholeheartedly was amazed by this book." Happy Ever After"Bared to You obliterates the competition with its real, emotionally intense characters that deal with pain and pleasure with honesty" Joyfully Reviwed

💰 I do not. Have no interest in it.

💰 💰 Sylvia Day's Crossfire series has a wealthy MC and some spicy romance! 😉 (tagged book is the first one in the series)

I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is an intensely hot romance novel, and it felt like I was “having an affair” at times while reading it hahaha I kept this book for reading at home not out and about 😝 it was a wonderful first book and I‘ve ordered the rest of the crossfire series. Waiting in anticipation for the rest

This is out of my comfort zone, so take that into account! #Pop23 #ABookYouThinkYourBestFriendWouldLike & #BarnesNobleChallenge #FriendFavorites. I think this was *trying* to go somewhere & I wasn‘t expecting anything earth-shattering. I liked the witty characters. I felt some of their behaviors/reactions challenged my suspension of disbelief. Not bad but not great. It didn‘t ask too much of my brain & that kind of reading‘s okay sometimes!

AshleyHoss820 I was going to do what I normally do and use a quote from the book, but for obvious reasons I couldn‘t do that…I have to say, if I were Eva and this were Gideon, I would have a hard time mentally functioning around him too. 😂 1y

We‘re in the middle of an unbearable heat wave and with an old townhouse, we can only have air conditioner units upstairs. So my husband and I have spent a lot of time camped out in our room without a TV or his game systems - so he‘s using my iPad for entertainment and I find myself turning to real books from my shelf. It‘s kind of nice! Reading this one now as I have never finished the series.

⭐️⭐️
Book #6 (bad romance are my insomnia reads) Mehhh this first one of the series is kind of a kink-adjacent romance. It‘s got a couple of the cliches I like least... including super rich guy with no time for romance who somehow makes time for it bc of a girl and her exceptional irresistibleness who doesn‘t know she‘s submissive until he shows her. Not my thing, but there were some steamy-ish scenes.

A friend told me this was a better alt to the 50 shades books. I think it‘s just as toxic. Sex scenes were cringey. Plus I hate where one hears or sees something then runs away instead of just talking!! Major triggers in this book that I understand are real issues, but nothing I want to read about when I‘m in the mood for romance. At least it‘s done #bookspinbingo

TheAromaofBooks At least it's off the list! 4y

I found this book to be absolutely terrible. Rich, confident dude likes clumsy airhead girl. Yawn. The sex scenes were better than 50 shades, but tainted by some strange and recurring mentioning of sexual abuse. Not sexy. Try again, Sylvia.

This day has been overwhelming so I decided to read and eat snacks. I do have youtube open and I‘m taking a reading break and watching just random videos.
Best evening in a while but we all know everything good eventually ends.
A little about the book:
So the main character seems a little annoying to me but I‘m in love with her bestfriend. I‘m also kind of confused about the story dont know why. Can‘t explain it really.

I've never read anything like this. Realistic feelings, passion, sex, and wildness. Definitely good what I expected and moreover what is needed now.

The untypical storyline and writing mastery grasp all my attention for the last 2 days.

Perfect choice to set the fire in daily routine. 💥

Ugh. I really disliked this one. I enjoyed it at first, but the more I read, the more I rolled my eyes. The conflict was lame and resolved too quickly. The sex scenes were cringy and at the most inappropriate moments (for example *immediately* following her confession of horrible childhood sexual abuse). I'm pretty disappointed in this one.

Jennaree3 Totally agree. 4y

And now for a little smut. I've heard this series is great!

brit91 I really enjoyed this series!😍📚 it's one of my favorites!! 5y
ThalassaLuna @brit91 I'm really enjoying it so far! Very reminiscent of 50 shades without all the niave, hopeless, virginal bimbo stuff. 5y
brit91 @ThalassaLuna yes I agree I thought it was simpler too 50 shades but I think I like this series better than 50 shades! But I love 50 shades too! 5y
ThalassaLuna @brit91 same. I really loved 50 shades. This one is refreshing though. At least Eva is putting up some resistance so far. Not just swooning helplessly into his arms. Haha 5y

Day 20: Favorite romance book

Bared to You is the first book in the Crossfire novels written by Sylvia Day. There are a lot of similarities between this series and the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, but these books are so much better. Eva and Gideon are inseparable no matter what they go through and that kind of passion and love is somewhat rare now. It's refreshing, seriously steamy, and kind of kinky. 😉

For those who saw my post about swapping recs with a co-worker and not loving the book that she picked - I squeezed in a quick re-read of *my* pick to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. I've read this book many times over the years and always love it! Complex characters that leap off the page and have off-the-charts chemistry. So much 🔥

If you've ever been intrigued by 50 Shades but were turned off by the bad writing, try this instead! #romantsy

So, I like me some romance. I read this a while back and now I‘ve caught the romance fiction bug again but don‘t know where to start? What are some steamy contemporary novels, similar to this, that contain no BDSM? #recommendations please!

Well, let‘s see. 🤔I liked that the characters were very flawed, despite being perfect on the outside. And the story has more layers than your usual romance novel. Even with this, the main characters couldn‘t really grab my interest like they should have. I mostly finished it because I wanted to see what the hype was about. It was ok, but just didn‘t really do it for me 😐 I doubt I would reread or even finish the rest of the series...

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I liked this series much better than Fifty Shades! I barely got through that one! 😆This really isn‘t my type genre so I was really doing a lot of eye rolling!! 🙄 6y
HOTPock3tt @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I really liked 50 shades when I read it!! 🤗😆 LoL. But that was 4 or 5 years ago 🤔 I think I‘m just a little tired of romance novels at this point. I‘ve been reading them since I was a teenager, back when I used to sneak and read my moms harlequin ones! Lmao 🤣 so I think it‘s just getting a little old with me 😐 6y

This series was very good. If you want a way better version of Fifty Shades of Grey, then this series is for you. Gideon Cross is a sexy, dark, broken billionaire that will steal your heart. The series is dark, steamy and a page-turner.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I totally agree!! I couldn‘t read Fifty Shades, but I really enjoyed these!! 6y
LadyRuthven @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Yes! This series is just so much better. I couldn't stand Fifty Shades, mainly for how it misrepresented BDSM and also because Christian was just awful. And considering the type of romances I like to read, that's really saying something. Haha 6y

Needed some light reading so I picked this up. Its ok. Feels like its trying to be 50 shades of Grey but with two fucked up characters. Also, I think that for their crazy abusive pasts they both seem pretty well adjusted. Eva especially has some amazing self insight which I find hard to believe. That being said.... I AM reading the second book because it is very light reading and thats what I need at the moment.

the story started out a tad creepy, the book does have some racy scenes so if you're not into that then don't read it, but if you do then this would be a great book to read! It's sexy and has an air of mystery and drama! This book has it all! Love it!
