JanuarieTimewalker13 It's because they are so comforting, even if they aren't , you know you are going to learn something. I love that the author shares his/her mind with you. Since I've been reading more in the last 10 years, I've learned how to distance myself from human folly and get lost in a book, or maybe even empathize and compare behavior to maybe something I've read in a book. The stepping back and examining has helped me. (edited) 7y
