TRIAL BY FIRE Join Coco as she continues her spellbinding journey of magic and discovery! After traveling to the mystical township of Kalhn with her new master to buy a casting wand, a strange, masked witch transports Coco and her three sister apprentices to an eerily quiet city. But they soon find out that theyre not alone, and they encounter a ferocious dragon! Do these fledgling witches have what it takes to defeat the fire-breathing beast, or will their plans and lives go up in flames?!

I adore this series already. The magic system is so unique. The artwork is fantastic as well. So far I'm finding the story very engaging and not predictable. I definitely found a great manga series to begin with. I've already begun the next book.

Vol 2 in this charming YA fantasy manga. It continues the story of young witches and their mentors. This has incredibly beautiful artwork and a fun cozy story. I definitely recommend! 4.5⭐️

This series continues to be cute and hilarious in equal measure despite its rather severe and dark undertones. Really the ideal series about young magic users.

I am unsure if Olruggio is a character to be trusted. But he does seem to protect Qifrey and his beliefs about the Knights removing memory and passion is on the fence. I enjoyed Agott‘s and Coco‘s interactions. Agott had an abusive childhood which is why she appears self-important.

I‘m also wondering is Coco had a natural talent for magic in the first place. Why did the brim-hat witches select Coco? There must be an underlying reason.

This volume ended in a serious cliff hanger. When things are lookin' good for Coco, the high council of witches come into view. I enjoyed how this volume added further depth to the characters, and we quickly learn about the mysterious witch and more spells from volume 1. Can't wait to see what volume 3 has in store for Coco and her friends!

Serotonin I still need to read volume 1 😆 3y
phantomx @Serotonin I flew through volume 1, and I got a friend to start reading it with me. Coco is very adorable! Also, I love how the creator has spun magic into both a tool and power😁 3y

Our apprentices need to figure out exactly how they are going to escape the crazy situation that they somehow got themselves in. The pressure is on and there‘s also a dragon to address. I really enjoyed this volume and how much it expanded on the opportunities that are available within this magic system as how we got to learn so much more about the drawing and other items that can be used for magic.

In this volume, Coco grows and learns more as a witch when she finally lets go of some of her insecurities and confidence issues. Her strength is undermined by the Knights Moralis, who seek to wipe her memory after she unknowingly practices forbidden magic. It ends on a cliffhanger so I‘m looking forward to the next one!
