A very cute, yet dark middle grade fantasy. I enjoyed the twist on the Hansel & Gretal story. A great one for middle grade students that like scary stories, yet is age appropriate. 4⭐️
Another #bookspinbingo!

Daisey I thought this was quite an interesting MG book as well! 4w

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved “The House Witch” and procrastinated starting the sequel as I was afraid that the second book wouldn‘t live up to the first. I enjoyed the plot, characters, and humor just as much as the first book, and I will be diving into the final volume right away.

If you loved the vibes of Legends & Lattes and/or The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches you will love this as well. It's a cozy fantasy with whimsy, magic, and comedy. All the good things! It's a bit long (658 pgs), and that is why I was fluctuating between a 4-5 star read. But I went with 5 stars because of how delightful of an escape I felt it gave me. I will definitely be reading the next one. Def noticing a theme of my 2024 fav reads!

Thank you so much for the *amazing* #yuleswap package @DinoMom - I love how much thought you put into this and really appreciate it. I'm headed outside now to burn the "yule log" I created (more like a cedar bundle. Lol) and read a bit more about yule from the book you sent. Again, thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness!

DinoMom Glad you like it. Weird question were the candle in the package? I had a couple sets and found on the floor behind my desk and hoping it didn‘t fall out of your box? 6mo
CuriousG @DinoMom No there weren't any candles in the box. You already sent so much though. Truly, I love it! 6mo

What are you doing to celebrate the 1st day of winter? Wishing you and yours rest and relaxation over the longer nights, looking forward to the renewal of spring. 🕯❄️🩵❄️🕯

IndoorDame A little physical cleaning during the day today to welcome the new season, and a small candle ceremony tonight to celebrate the return of the light. Are you celebrating? 6mo
AllDebooks I've had a lovely, relaxing day wrapping presents and listening to the BBC Christmas collection of short stories. Waiting on my youngest daughter to come home, then we're having a snacky feast and candlelit night x 6mo

One of my favorite things about December is more time to snuggle up and read. #huey #catsoflitsy

I am not a graphic novel reader but I truely did enjoy treading this one. Maybe in the future I‘ll be more likely to take up a graphic novel! Ah the things doing reading challenges can teach us!

Finally finished this one. I have been reading it on and off for at least the last few months! Some good information for beginners inside.

We have just had over 12 hours of thunder cells and super cells here. Youngest daughter woke at 2.30am and hasn‘t been back asleep. Eldest woke at 4.30 and hasn‘t been back asleep. Son child was up for most of it. Is parents dozed in and out when it wasn‘t over our heads. All I want to do today is rest! So we cancelled any appointment that couldn‘t be a phone consult and that‘s what we are doing.

Darklunarose @Gabbymags123 I‘m glad we are on the other end of it now…I love thunderstorms but this was intense. We are on a hill but there were a few places that had flooding in Adelaide yesterday. 7mo
Darklunarose @Texreader they usually love it! But after the huge storm last year that took the power out for 36 hours littlest isn‘t so fond now. The big ones (all adults but still) just were awake with the noise. My eldest loves watching it. She is the one who got the photo. I swear if she had a good camera she would be one of those weather chasers looking for photos. 7mo
Texreader @Darklunarose That‘s good to hear. I was terrified of storms as a kid. Now I just panic because we get giant hailstones here and once a baseball/grapefruit sized hailstone came straight through our living room window. We were cleaning up glass for ages and it was cold and hard to get the window replaced because everyone lost windows. Repairmen were tied up for days. So ugh. 7mo
Darklunarose @Texreader that‘s not what you want. And glass is do dangerous when it‘s little bits floating around! You would worry at every severe thunderstorm warning! Good for the repair guys, bad for the home owners. 6mo
