The best Halloweens I ever had were when we lived in Dublin. It was a serious affair. We would spend weeks building a community bonfire and guarding it so no others would rob it. The day of Halloween we ate colcannon and barmbrack, dressed up in costumes and partied with the neighborhood at the bonfire to scare all the evil away. It was my favorite night of the year.

My #ahrs and #mws packages are in the mail as of yesterday. I have now received both my #allhallowsreadswap package and my #modernwitchswap package and am impatiently waiting with anticipation and excitement!!!!

Though she hopes for a fresh start, suspicion still follows as the town faces hardship and fear. I was hoping for something a bit more witchy, but it‘s more about survival and harsh colonial life. Told through Mary‘s discovered journal, it starts slow, yet by the end I was curious to see what happens next and would read the sequel.
