I‘ve needed #humor in my reading lately and this book did the trick. Sometimes it‘s good to “take a step back” (which trick was that?) and have a good laugh at yourself and #workplace fun. I‘ve heard every trick in this book at various meetings and used some myself. Especially loved the networking tips. Enjoy!

With chapter titles like “Let me tell you what I‘m going to tell you before I tell you again” and “Networking events: how to build relationships with people you‘ll never see again,” this book has me laughing out loud already!

One of my colleagues had this on her door today, and honestly, I think most of us can relate.

This hilarious book mirrors what happens in meetings with some interesting (bad) advice that you actually might want to use. I really enjoyed this book and read many sections aloud to coworkers and friends. Kinda wanna try some of these ideas in my next meeting.

HardcoverHearts My coworker and I joke that Duly Noted is business code for Eff You! 😉 So it makes me laugh every time I hear it in it's intended usage. 7y
bookandcat You need to read Pretending You Care which basically is the retail version of this book you're reading 7y
hwheaties This is awesome. Had a data meeting today, and shockingly no one used any of these phrases! 7y
Cobscook After today's meeting I can totally relate to this! 7y
EnidBiteEm 😂😂😂 Sadly so true 7y
DogMomIrene Funniest thing I've read today, including the Sunday comics! Makes me incredibly thankful to be teaching part-time this year. I'm not required to go to weekly faculty meetings or any data team meetings. In-service days are required, but I like seeing folks from other schools. Not sure if I can ever go back. Not sure how FT teachers manage. 7y
Kimzey This made me laugh! 😂 7y

dekabrista I wonder, what else is possible ... and if my boss knows all those tricks by heart. 7y
List_addict I'm just surprised you can keep reading instead of filing this in an intray where it will never see the light of day again. My greatest benefit in only working night-shift is avoiding the middle management who must surely walk around with this book in their back pockets! Hilarious! 7y

So that's what those annoying coworkers are doing! They are being SMART, not *insert face palm here* stupid. Now I understand! 🤓

AshleyS The one my coworkers like to use is "we're all adults here" 7y
Foxyfictionista "Let's pick the low-hanging fruit" is one of my favs. Or "We don't need to reinvent the wheel". Good stuff. 7y

What REALLY goes on in one-on-one meetings 😜

LauraBeth I loved my last boss to pieces because he had ADD and I could distract him when I hadn't done a lick of work from my last one on one...I would usually start the meeting with: "did you hear what so and so at corporate said about our team?!" And that's how it's done ? 7y
LauraBrook This is so accurate! @LauraBeth 😂 7y
SharonGoforth I don't rate having a one-on-one with my boss. I just have to schedule them for everyone else. 7y
