As a former fourth grader and— more recently—a teacher of fourth graders, this panel (p. 9) resonated. #TeachersOfLitsy

Susanita She spoke at the National Book Festival, and it was delightful. 1d

This is what I read to my English classes for #firstchaptermonday today. I haven't read it yet (other than the first chapter, lol!), but it's next on my TBR list! #teachersoflitsy #englishteacher

Dcueto I really liked this series! 3d
CoffeeNBooks @Dcueto I've heard it's a great series! I have the entire series in my classroom library, but haven't read them yet. 3d
Dcueto Get on it, neighbor! 3d

CoffeeNBooks @Dcueto I'm planning to start Asylum when I go to the library with my classes on Friday. Would it be wrong to refuse to check it out to anyone before then because I want to read it, lol?! 3d
Dcueto Ha! I always do that. I tell them I‘m making sure it‘s appropriate 😜 3d
Dcueto Btw, I think it‘s awesome that you model reading for them. It‘s so important for them to see readers 3d

One of the most important books I‘ve ever read. This details Dr. Burke Harris‘s journey to develop treatments for toxic stress and integrating the ACE study into her pediatric practice. As a teacher working in a trauma informed school, it was so helpful for my education and I could not recommend it more!

#CurrentView - A teacher‘s work is never done! Prepping for this week‘s lessons with a pumpkin spice latte. #TeachersofLitsy

squirrelbrain I studied Boule de Suif for A-level French here in the UK (many many years ago!) and more recently read other Maupassant short stories in English - I like him! 4d

Well, we are a little over a month into the school year and I‘ve already had a student tear through the first Mistborn trilogy while I am crawling through book 3.

On the one hand that‘s kind of awesome, but on the other I now live in fear of spoilers.

ljuliel Isn‘t that a neat idea ! Do you always put your current read on display for your students ? What a great way to snag new readers . 1w

I‘m SO EXCITED to use an excerpt from this book with my #AmericanLit classes this week. Anna‘s chapter “Off the Deep End” fits perfectly with our discussion about what it means to be American, and the timing with the anniversary of 9/11 couldn‘t be better. I just wish my colleagues would venture into this century & join me in diversifying our curriculum 🙄 #weneeddiversebooks #ya #teachersoflitsy

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Eat pudding. Books are good. Eat pudding. If kids read a lot. Eat pudding. They'll get so they can think clearly. Eat pudding. And if enough kids read and think. Eat pudding. We will have world peace. Eat pudding. Thank you very much. Eat pudding.”
