I started this book during our independent reading time in seminar today, and I did not want to stop when the bell rang. I‘m really intrigued to see where this story goes. However, the book has to stay on my desk at school for the week, so I may not get much further until this weekend.

Texreader Love the read a book display! What grade? 2w
Daisey @Texreader My library is geared toward middle school/junior high since I taught English for several years, but now I teach junior high and high school math. 2w
Texreader @Daisey I love that you‘re teaching math and still have reading recommendations! 🎉 2w
Sace I love setting up my classroom. I need to take a page from your book and recommend books to my high school students. 2w
Daisey @Sace It always takes me a get to get started, but then it really helps me feel ready for a new year. I‘ve found this little bulletin board display where I set out a few books each month from a different genre or relating to a specific topic works well for making some different books visible to students. 2w
Daisey @Texreader Last year was tough because it was the switch to all math, but getting books off my shelf (a collection of my own books I‘ve built over years so they didn‘t just go to another teacher) and into their hands is still really important to me. 2w

As I continue to teach more math, I keep trying to read more books about math myself and add a few more to my class library as well. This is my current math related read, and so far I‘m appreciating it.

tpixie I may have to buy this for my youngest child/daughter. She teaches HS math. (edited) 1mo
Daisey @tpixie I‘m bailing on this one for now. I just don‘t have the motivation to read about math along with regular math class prep right now. I might try it again next summer. 4d
tpixie @Daisey summer may be a better time! Then you aren‘t doubling it up! 🆙 4d

Last weekend was so busy that I never had time to share, so I‘ve got two weeks of joy!
💛 Bored Teachers comedy show with friends/colleagues #TeachersOfLitsy
💛 End of the school year events and graduation for another class
💛 As commencement speaker, I was able to reminisce with the seniors about writing and reading projects as well as personal memories from our experiences together.
⬇️

Daisey 💛 A quick trip to my sister‘s for a family Mother‘s Day get together
💛 My classroom is organized and packed up for the summer, and I got to start a quiet weekday morning at home today!
💛 Bonus joy: More time with the pets this week after barely being home for a few days last week
