I very much liked this. I lost track of the number of times I giggled or out right laughed. It is a YA book and pretty morbid, which is straight up my humor street.
I rarely read more than one book in a seriies but I am considering getting the next one, this one ends on quite the cliffhanger.

If you read and enjoyed Scythe, then you will probably also enjoy this novel. It was both a quick read and one that made it difficult to put down. I pretty much finished in the span of a day! Definitely going to have to pick up the sequel. #yalit #viloniareads #vhsreads

For the past week I have been helping our school librarian sort and add genre labels to books. This has resulted in many books being added to my TBR pile and today I decided to take a pic of a few...might be heading to summer check out! #vhsreads #viloniareads #schoollibrary #teachersoflitsy #tbr

Denton Little lives in a world where everyone knows when they Are going to die. His has always been known as the kid who is going to die his senior year.

I really enjoyed this book and was surprised at how much I liked it. It‘s a refreshing story that has been done in different ways with some hilarious moments spread throughout the story. Can‘t wait to read the next book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Despite the ominous title, this is one of the most entertaining, humorous books I‘ve read in a while. Denton Little knows the day he will die, but when that day arrives, it proves more eventful than anticipated. Through it all, Denton adds comments full of lighthearted, gallows humor, and it was impossible for me not to enjoy it.

Book 3 for #SixBy6/6—finished on the 2nd.

Finished Denton Little‘s Deathdate on the plane to Hawaii. I really enjoyed this book. There was quite a bit of sexual content that I wasn‘t expecting. But still a great book!!

I suspect the cover change here was due to the space between publishing book 1 and book 2. #coverlove #changesedition

GlassAsDiamonds I don‘t know why but I *hate* that hearse on the side. Clearly my brain is having issues tonight! 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6y
mabell @GlassAsDiamonds I agree!! It almost gives me a headache. 6y
readinginthedark The description of this makes me think of the movie Timer, although that‘s a love date, not a death date. Is it good? 6y

Was stuck between a so-so and pick for me. It fell flat in the middle but the ending picked up enough for me to pick up book 2
3.5-4 ⭐️

BekahB I felt the exact same way! I listened to this one on audio. The ending left me curious enough to pick up the second book, but it's not on my immediate TBR. 7y

I picked this book up during a reading slump and it may have hurt my enjoyment, because I didn't really like it. Denton Little is suppose to die at 17 and he's just trying to live a normal life until then. I didn't care for Denton, sure he's a nice guy at the end but a total jerk before that to his girlfriend and Veronica. I don't know, it was a cool concept but didn't like the execution I guess. Just not for me.

Denton has always known he was going to die one day. In fact, he has always known exactly what day that would be—everyone does. But when his deathdate arrives, stuff starts to get really weird...and purple?

A truly bizarre book, but fun. The twisted humor is perfect for YA. Sometimes it seems like the world's just happening to Denton and character development takes a backseat to the never-ending mishaps, but overall it's a funny, unique read.

I started out my day listening to the first book in a James Patterson YA thriller series, Confessions of a Murder Suspect. It's good and I like the narrator, but I'm just not feeling it right now.

I switched over to Denton Little's Deathdate by Lance Rubin. I'm loving it so far! It's both funny and dark, a combination I enjoy. I'm taking this on the road with me as I do some errands.

The concept for this book is simple: everyone knows the exact date they're going to die, and they know it almost from birth. Lance takes the idea into all kinds of goofy directions and even throws in a bit of a conspiracy storyline, too. It's a fun ride, and I can't wait for the second book. You might say I'm dying for it to come out. #DentonLittle #deathdate #DentonLittlesDeathdate #YALit #LanceRubin #youngadult #dyingyoung

I listened to this debut novel on audio last year, and so many months later I keep finding myself thinking about how great it is. Morbid, hilarious, and just surreal enough to keep me enthralled. I read it just after reading Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (by library hold list fate) and they complement each other splendidly. #booktober
