I'm Your Biggest Fan: Awkward Encounters and Assorted Misadventures in Celebrity Journalism | Kate Coyne
14 posts | 18 read | 22 to read
The Executive Editor of People Magazine provides an unfiltered and hilarious look at her life alongside the rich and famous, as she reveals how being a fan-girl lead to celebrity close encounters she could only dream of growing up. From the NY Post's "Page Six" to Good Housekeeping and now People, Kate Coyne has spent years on the front lines of the entertainment industry, feeding our insatiable appetite for celebrity news and gossip. I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN chronicles her journey from red-carpet reporter to upper-level editor and the countless surreal, surprising, and awkward interactions she had with stars along the way. Featuring A-listers such as Michael Douglas (who warned her about tabloid reporting), Tom Cruise (whose behavior will surprise you) and Tom Hanks (who, yes, is wonderful) Coyne's stories reveal insights about pop culture's biggest icons-and the journalist who has followed their every move.

This fun, light memoir of an entertainment journalist about her interactions with celebrities is a great palette cleanser. She is unafraid to expose her own foibles and embarrassing moments along the way. It‘s a fun look at a lifestyle completely different from my own.

This book was very funny and awkward. You have to respect someone who can share such embarrassing celebrity encounters ha ha. #readathon

#TBRtemptation post! Sounds like a fun and funny memoir to me! KC is Executive Editor of "People Magazine", and she charts her career from red-carpet reporter to the top. Michael Douglas, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, and many, many other celebrities make appearances and share encounters & personality with the author. If you're looking for a lighter read, this may be your cup of tea. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?

I always enjoy books that give the "inside scoop" about celebrities, and this was a fun jaunt with Kate Coyne through her years as an editor for 2 major magazines and the celebrities she encountered as a result. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterI

This was a good palate cleanser. Like reading People after finishing an issue of the New Yorker. Kate Coyne is actually an editor at People so that comparison is apt. Anyway, this is sort of a gossipy telling of some of her celebrity encounters. You won't find anything negative about celebrities in it, but it's still fun to get an inside look at the world of entertainment.

I just heard the terrible news that George Michael died. I remember Coyne's chapter about her encounter with him as a kid. It hurts my heart that another voice from my childhood has been silenced this year.

I really really liked this one. Very funny, and a few surprising moments. It is fun reading about her being such a fangirl when she works with celebrities all the time.

Picked this book up at Target for a fun, summer read and it delivered. The chapter on George Michael was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time!

MrBook Sounds like a quirky fun breezy read 😊. 8y

I listened to this on audio while I walked the dog for a few weeks and finished it up while I picked up sticks after my husband cut down a tree. Loved Coyne's stories of different times she rubbed elbows with celebrities like Tom Cruise, Winona Judd, and Anderson Cooper. Coyne is able to poke fun at herself and give an inside glimpse into the lives of the stars. Anyone who reads People magazine will enjoy this one.

Perfect beach read. Loved Coyne's journey from teen fan girl to professional fan woman. Fun to read bits out loud to family & friends.
