I love 80s music, but generally the darker side- so Duran Duran are definitely a guilty pleasure- their first 2 albums. John Taylor‘s autobiography has been on hubby‘s shelves for ages and I‘ve not read.
Girls on Film ultimate guilty pleasure for the feminist in me- I mine it‘s just looking at beautiful women come on!! Anyway 😁

BarbaraBB I loved John Taylor back then. He was so cute! And Duran Duran was my introduction into the not so mainstream music, especially their earlier songs, like Girls on Film and Rio. Love that you add them! 11mo

Jerdencon @LittleWonder I'm sure we def have some of the same Facebook friends in the DD groups. I met the band years ago at a cocktail party and screening of their DVD in NYC. And I've been to their shows mostly in NY and on the east coast but I've also seen them in New Orleans and in Birmingham and I've met a ton of great people. 7y

What a sweet step back into my youth this has been! I thought I knew JT well, but this was an eye-opener.
Because of this book, I've been listening to Duran Duran constantly for the last few weeks. I've also ordered some vintage merch that, had I had the foresight, should have kept from the height of my Duran-mania. Oh well. Buying some things a second time can be just as exhilarating.
And how could you not fall in love with this beautiful boy!!

For Liberty's Fun Friday Photo....a must read for any 80's music fan. The real ups and downs of an awkward British teen turned 80's boy band heartthrob. Actually, it's a very revealing read - and well written too.
