Over the Edge | Suzanne Brockmann

Over the Edge by @suzbrockmann This is the second Navy Seal novel that I've read, and I think I might have found a new favorite guilty pleasure. (Adult content warning- cause sometimes I gotta act like an adult)

The end felt a bit rushed but otherwise this book was a lot better than I expected. She took a cliché theme and put a nice spin on it. And really, who wouldn't want to run away with a rock band?

This was a pretty good book with a great twist. My only quibble is that I think it was too long. I was getting a little bored in the middle waiting for something to happen.

Jennifermeaton @MelissaJCrispin I liked, not loved it. I enjoyed it but I'm not scrambling for the next book. 8y
MelissaJCrispin Ah. Good to know. Thanks! I've been trying out the first in series for a few authors and have experienced the same lately. I want to find a new series to obsess over! 8y

I just got an Arc of Shadow of a Girl by Shannon Greenland (I couldn't tag the book because it's not in the Litsy library yet.)

Bailedbailed

This was supposed to be my beach/poolside read this year but I had to abandon it. This book is written like a textbook. I was interested, but I kept falling asleep. I guess it just wasn't what I expected.

Bookzombie I bailed too! I felt like it was all over the place. I really wanted to read it and love it. 8y
megt I did manage to finish this one, but I fell asleep so many times while reading it! 8y

I really enjoyed this book. Such an unexpected twist on what could happen after the Happy ending we're all used too. In this book our hero, Amy, gets whisked to OZ to find out Dorothy is an evil dictator and the Tin Woodsman, Lion, and Scarecrow are her evil minions. While I wasn't crazy about the ending, the possibility of what the ending means intrigues me. I hope that the author goes with what I expect. Really neat twist on an old tale.

Omigosh I loved this book so much! Such a creepy inventive dystopian world. Really a big surprise for me. It's a loose retelling, but a powerful one. Stayed with me for days. This is a paranormal in a frightening future New York city.

Jennifermeaton @MelissaJCrispin it's soooooo good! Great examples of deep inner thought. (Maybe overdone at times, but still good) 8y
Jennifermeaton Oh! And there's an audio book @MelissaJCrispin 8y
