I didn't really realize what this was going into it, but I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of good reminders about how to really be there for someone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I went into it thinking it was just another travel memoir, but it was so much more. I loved all the facts and research that went into this. Not only did I get a sense of what it was like to live in Denmark as a foreigner, I also feel like I know a lot about how the country operates. Anyone want to move to Denmark with me? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This made for a great vacation read. I didn't love SIMON, so I was a little skeptical going into this one, but I really enjoyed the characters. The relationships felt real, it seemed like it was coming from a real 17 year old, and it was funny. It might not be my favorite book I've ever read, but it was a good one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I adored this book! I read the first one a while ago and couldn't stop thinking about the ending. So when I had a chance to grab this galley, I was so excited! Romantic, magical, heartbreaking, dangerous, this book has it all. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While I didn't get through this as quickly as I did GRACELING, I still loved this book. I was really excited to get to know Bitterblue and Monsea better, and that ending really made me want to go back and read FIRE. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been holding on to this galley for quite some time and just now got to it. I had a flight at 3am and then ended up staying up until past 11pm the same night because I wanted to finish. I don't feel like I NEED to read Gemina right away, but I did thoroughly enjoy this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved this book! I adored On The Map, so I knew I was going to like Just My Type before I began, but I didn't realize how quickly I would get through it or how much I would learn. Garfield does a great job of balancing information on printing, computers, the people behind the fonts, and the fonts themselves. I would 100% recommend this (I'm already making my roommate who is a designer read it, if that's any indication) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I only finished this book a few minutes ago but I am SO OBSESSED. I love Katsa, adore Po, and can't wait to find out more about Bitterblue. Even though I've read a ton of "special girl with special abilities is ostracized because she's so special" books (don't get me wrong, I love those books), this one feels 100% unique. I cannot sing it's praises enough. Everyone go out and read this book IMMEDIATELY. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The language in this is beautiful, but the story was way too real for me to handle post-election. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more in a different occasion.

I was a little disappointed by this one. I loved the first Dash & Lily so much, that this one was a bit of a let down. The dialogue was still really great and I liked revisiting all the characters, but this wasn't quite as fun.

It's been a good 13-14 years since I first read this book. While it was longer, more dense, and a bit more scary that I remembered, I was very pleased with this reread. I understood more of the nuances and I feel like I have a deeper appreciation for the characters. I'm excited to start The Subtle Knife!

This is N absolutely stunning little book. I've been a huge fan of Nina's since reading HOLD STILL when I was in high school right after the death of a good friend. That book meant so much to me that I was kind of afraid to pick this one up, but I'm so glad that I did. Like HOLD STILL, this is a beautiful study in grief that will make you cry and want to tell everyone just how much you love them. It's about family & loss & understanding. Read it.

I really enjoyed this book. If a travel memoir can make me start researching flights, that's the mark of a great novel. This absolutely did that. It made me want to have a fling while also perfectly getting how horrible dating is.

To sum up, I'm in love. See y'all in Paris.

Overall, I liked this short story collection. There were certain stories I liked more than others, but I think as a whole it was very strong (my favorite was probably the "Bonnie AND Clyde" story). It was a little saddening to me that so many of these stories ended in death for the badass ladies, but I think that was one of the very few negatives for me.

Pax | Sara Pennypacker
Mehso-so

I finished PAX and I didn't think it lived up to the hype. I liked it fine, but I was expecting it to pack a much more emotional punch. I also didn't feel like the ending wrapped enough of the story up for me. My issues with the setting remained through the whole book and I think that Peter was a little too oblivious about the war that was going on (kids are smart and know what's going on. I didn't feel like Peter reflected that).

Getting my Mock Newbery reads in!

aeeklund I've heard good things about this one. How do you like it? 8y
Rlweasley @aeeklund I'm not crazy about it so far. I'm about a third of the way in and the thing that's bothering me the most is the setting. I think it's intentionally vague, but I'm finding it really hard to get past and that's affecting the story itself. That said, things could definitely change in the next 150+ pages! 8y
aeeklund @Rlweasley Interesting... I look forward to hearing the final verdict! 8y

I found this book interesting, but not all that engaging. At times the writing about the different real life people seemed speculative which I didn't love and I found the subtitle a bit misleading considering it took so long to find out about the space race. All together, I would say it was an interesting read, but I didn't really enjoy it.
