I donated a stack of books to my sons 5th grade reading teacher. I got to shelve them while subbing today. Maybe this way my son will actually read them! 🤣

Tamra I have the same issue - I get all kinds of books that to me sound fun and entertaining and he (5th grade son) isn‘t interested. 😐 I also want him to practice regular chapter books but he wants to read graphic novels mainly. 6y

Foragingfantasy @Tamra my son is pretty good about reading, but he only wants to read books from the library for some reason. I keep telling him he can take tests on the ones from home too, but he doesn‘t seem to believe me! Lol 6y

Joy0201 I work to get 12th graders who have never read for pleasure to read. My big winning strategy is they can walk away from a book after 50 pages. They have to give it 50 pages. But after that they just write me a justification for dropping the book and they can move on to another. It helps them try a variety of types without overwhelming commitment. 6y

He's not well, so added his dad's hoodie and a hot water bottle to numerous layers... But still reading. That's my boy! He actually finds reading a real challenge (looks to have significant dyslexic tendencies) but he's going through a Wimpy Kid book a day. Off to Asda to get him more soon 👍

After 5 books, it was not that funny anymore. I still had a few laughs but I'm getting tired of Greg. He just wouldn't grow up. Everything revolves around him. He really is wimpy. Bottomline is that the book is still funny but juvenile.
