In this one, our beloved pair has arrived in Australia after .... Well, you should read the first 5 books. This is the sixth. For the uninitiated, this is Napoleonic Wars with dragons.

A historical fantasy that was too light in both history and fantasy. For the full review, please visit http://benjamin-m-weilert.com/index.php/2019/12/05/book-tongues-of-serpents-2010...

In the sixth book of the series set in an alternate world during the Napoleonic wars, Laurence is sent to Australia with his dragon Temeraire when convicted of treason. When they arrive, to avoid the politics between the deposed and current governor, they travel to the interior to build a road with convicts. Though it's not my favorite in the series, it's still a good read. I'm looking forward to starting the next, which is new to me!

2017 #63 fantasy audio this book may have killed my desire to see Australia or maybe my love of dragons. It was yet again another why are we doing this and why does this even make sense but in the end the world building and the voice is what brings me back.

Excellent continuation of the Temeraire series this time set in Australia. I read most of the book traditionally but enjoyed a portion of it in audio. It pairs well with Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Stout.
