Excellent, timely message from author Jodi Picoult on the dangers of #bookbans and history repeating itself and what we can do to take action.

Sage is a baker baking through the days and nights to escape loneliness. Josef Weber, an elderly man in her grief support group begins to stop by the bakery and they develop a unique friendship. He confesses a long buried secret to her that makes her question everything about her life and family.
This week‘s #bookreport compliments of audiobooks as I finished all these on audio. Tagged was my favorite this week.
A story within a story within a story. I‘m not always a fan of Picoult but this was excellent.
The Storyteller is a perfectly titled book. This beautifully written book actually weaves many stories. I wasn‘t sure what I was in for when I met Sage at a grief group. She‘s an introverted baker who meets Joseph, an elderly widowed man. I quickly became engrossed when the heart of the book tells Sage‘s grandmother‘s story, an Auschwitz survivor. There‘s so much more that follows. This became quite an emotionally powerful read. #MountTBR

The one book I have read: Leaving Time
There's so many more by this author I want to try.
Recommendations?
I haven't read a Jodi Picoult book in a long time... The Storyteller was very moving, as it weaves through modern day times, the experience of a holocaust survivor and Nazi officer.... Just wow. I just loved it.
Good morning! Fresh off work and ready to settle down in my cozy bed and read 😀
I always love a good Jodi book!!!
I went into this book without knowing anything about it beyond the title and author. But I always think I‘m ready for the moral twist in the closing pages of a Jodi Piccoult book. Why do I think I‘m ready!? I never am - she got me again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 this story was so good! It was incredibly heartbreaking and vivid but an important and necessary read.
a granddaughter learns the story of her grandmother‘s life as a Holocaust prisoner. befriends the soldier whom her grandmother worked for in the camp. when he asks her to help him die she is trapped into what is the right thing to do. in the end did she do the right thing?
this story had me from the start and kept me till the end. reason being I stayed up till midnight cross stitching and listening to the audible.
It's been a long while since I've posted on her but this book motivated me to restart. Her books never disappoint but this one really had me contemplating the things that happened during the war. We read about history but don't always get the thoughts on those who suffered on both sides, both then and in the future.
I got so many good quotes from this one!

Another great Picoult book. This also fits the #tearjerker #readwithMrBook prompt this month. @MrBook
Cat, coffee, book!!! Happy Sunday!
I think I‘m done with Picoult‘s Moral Dilemma books but I still really enjoyed this. A geriatric Nazi asks the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor to help him die. The flashback chapters were brilliant and it has a cracking ending, a solid 4 star read.
#weeklyforecast @Cinfhen
This is going to be a very busy week, as the annual dance festival I produce starts Friday! 😬.
So I‘d be satisfied with finishing the two I‘m currently reading, and maybe get a start on these short ones to finish up the month.
The crazy tile in the background was in the movie theater bathroom I went to yesterday. It was almost overwhelmingly psychedelic!
@CoffeeAndABook was right. It‘s a book that resonates – if you get over the first bumpy hour. Yet, I‘m also having some issues with it. The story Minka writes feels completely unnecessary and forced to me. 🤷🏽♀️ And although the story of her life makes me feel sick 🤢 (I‘m German), it‘s the twist in the end that I will chew on for a while – _because_ the book helped me to develop a clear opinion on the fundamental plot before that revelation.
Meanwhile I like it better because I know more of the fundamental plotline and think Jodi Picoult chose an immensely interesting topic. 😄 (I didn‘t know there is an extra department for this in U.S. Justice Administration.)
But I still get confused with the sub-plot: The story that Saige‘s grandma wrote in her notebook. I know what it‘s supposed to be but for me it‘s not well made, I still always confuse the characters that appear in there.
Ha‼️ Unbelievable but if you search under the correct original book title, you find what you are looking for. 😇
I was talking about this book with @CoffeeAndABook ‼️😅
By now I am already 4 hours in but in the beginning I still could re-feel the reservations I had when trying to listen to it for the first time.
If I could only recall with who I talked about this book during the last weeks. She or he wrote a review that made me consider giving this it another try. So, if we talked about this book and you read my feed, give me a shout. 🙋🏽♀️
I still am not familiar with Saige‘s voice and I already had one time jump that confused me but I‘m only in one hour. I feel this could be one of the books you listen to in as few settings as possible.
Incredible. No words. If you enjoy reading historical fiction, give this one a read. 🤩🤩🤩
“So you see, this is why I never told my story. If you lived through it, you already know there are no words that will ever come close to describing it. And if you didn‘t, you will never understand.”
“Forgiving isn't something you do for someone else. It's something you do for yourself. It's saying, 'You're not important enough to have a stranglehold on me.' It's saying, 'You don't get to trap me in the past. I am worthy of a future.”

Jodi Picoult.💖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my first Jodi Piccoult and I loved her writing. It was a tough subject matter and many of the chapters were hard to read but I couldn‘t put it down.
Rainy days are for good books and chocolate 😊
I just can‘t get into this. After 3rd CD I‘m still waiting for it to catch me up.
Been given this by one of my fellow book lovers. Curious if any of you have read it and enjoyed it? ☺️
Whoa what a riveting book!!
I picked it up at a used bookstore a few days ago & have hardly come up for air! Have been reading any chance I got.
It‘s very hard to read in parts but the storyline and moral dilemma that‘s presented are so compelling.
And I love the quirky side character Mary, the ex-nun with the Harley 👩🏻🎤
I‘m having a hard time finding words for this one. To start, I have a soft spot for Jodi Picoult‘s writing. And this one did not disappoint. It‘s a haunting tale, but one that needed to be told. And that ending! 😱
If you‘ve been on the fence about this one, pick it up. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This audiobook and snowy country roads ☺️ two winter storms rolling through this week will be a bit more tolerable with an audiobook keeping me company on my commute to and from work ❄️
An unexpected day at home since my little man woke up with a fever this morning 😢 nap time calls for a grilled turkey and cheddar, tots, and a fresh read 📚
I should be working but can't put it down.
