Bailedbailed

I am bummed to bail on this, as I love Queen Nora. However, the trademark NR banter is just grating and repetitive. The characters are not terribly likable and I am getting zero chemistry between any of the potential couples. I made it about 50% and found myself skimming so just going to stop. It also felt quite dated, even though it‘s from 2006.

vkois88 I've heard this one is good. I've only read one of her books before 5y
Christinak @vkois88 Nora Roberts is one of my escape reads. My favorite is the Inn Boonsboro Trilogy (edited) 5y
vkois88 The one I read was the first in the Cousins O'Dwyer (?) Series. I really liked it but had to wait to get the others, and by then I'd forgotten it. So I have to start from scratch. I still intend to read them though 5y

Mehso-so

After reading the Guardian series, this seemed so much like a retelling in a different setting. Still a group of six people sent by a benevolent goddess to fight an evil entity and fight within three books. I became very bored very quickly, trudged through the book and have moved on to another book by a different author.

Went shopping in Morgantown today with my mother. She has gotten back into reading more since she retired. So I bought her two books for Christmas. I know for a fact that she likes Nora Roberts. On the way back home how ever she stated that she doesn't like vamipres... well fml.

JackieSmith The Brotherhood might win her over, though! 6y
freyaheart @JackieSmith I hope so. 6y

robinb I love how this woman writes....❤️ 7y
ChicaReads @robinb This is my first Roberts book. 7y
robinb Oh wow, if you like her, you've got a HUGE backlist to look forward to! lol I've loved everything I've read by her but haven't tackled it all yet. I also love her In Death series (there's close to 50 of those) which she writes as JD Robb. They're more of a futuristic cop thriller series. 7y

I found this book to be interesting. I loved the way she tied the past with the future and how the generations of one family came together.

This was an enjoyable read! The beginning was a little rocky, but as each member of the circle made their way into the story, I liked the book more and more. They were easy to connect with. I'm excited to find out where the story continues with the second book!

Laura317 I have never read anything by Nora Roberts. I'll have to give this a try, unless you suggest starting with a different book. 8y

#TBT I can't believe that was 6 years ago! This is a great trilogy by Nora Roberts, with some Witches & Wizards, Vampires & Vampire Hunters, Shape Shifters & Time Travel. It was a very engaging adventure to read, with of course in Nora Roberts style a dash of romance too. I love a good band of unlikely allies on a save the world quest. What more can I say, when Nora Roberts decides to do paranormal romance/urban fantasy she does it right. 😉

Maike I loved this series! ❤️ 8y
HollyB3 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I was just thinking about re-reading this series. It's been a while since I've read some NR and I remember how much I loved these books. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @HollyB3 Sounds like fate then! 8y

[DELETED] 2232195534 I think I love her trilogies best. My most favorite is the Three Sisters Trilogy - witches! But, I also really this one and the Key Trilogy. Must be time to do some rereading!! 8y
MMenefee The books in this series are the only ones I've read by NR and I really enjoyed them. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @kaysreadinglife I also read the Key Trilogy and the Blood Brothers trilogy. The Blood Brothers Trilogy is similar to the Key books, except it's three best friends who unwittingly let something evil out as children and have to go back home and fix it...so still romance, but also horror vibe. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @MMenefee I've read three of her trilogies now, and enjoyed them all. This one is my favorite, but they all have a main couple in each book, plus a good overarching trilogy story, and in each she dips into a different genre a bit. This series is a bit fantasy/romance. The Blood Brothers set is a bit more horror/romance, and the Key set is more paranormal/romance. 8y
MMenefee @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I'm going to add the Blood and Key books, as well as the Three Sisters based on @kaysreadinglife comment. Thanks y'all! 8y
