The marriage is fake. But for a sassy chef and an arrogant billionaire, the sparks are real...Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum--money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract--and a stunning ring. The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he's built walls to avoid. As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiance the best happy ending...or a recipe for disaster?

Loved it! Beauty and the Beast themed and a slow burn? Good stuff. #romantsy #romance #kindleunlimited

This book is basically Princess Tiana fanfiction, and pretty fun at that! Bianca & Jax had good chemistry, and the dialogue seemed well-written. The plot moved at a weird pace (too slow and then all too fast at once), & I didn‘t totally buy some depictions of Bianca‘s experience as a WOC (not surprising, really). Still, I had fun reading it! A cute read if you‘re in the mood for something silly and fun. ★★★☆☆.

If you enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, then you would love this! What a sweet romance! I was so happy that Jackson got his princess at the end. Both he and Bianca deserve their happily ever after. The fact that it's set in my beloved city New Orleans gives this book a permanent special place in my heart. Geissinger researched that city well and it's much appreciated. 😊

This is the type of Enemies-to-Lovers romance I like! It was funny, it was dramatic, it was romantic, and I loved the characters Jackson and Bianca ❤️🖤

This story is a bit Beauty and the Beast (his nickname is Beast- only he already has the good looks; just a temper and attitude like wow), and when his huge Library is mentioned, and she‘s a big reader, I was like Yesssss! My heart got happy.

It‘s finally cold here in Houston and I don‘t want to get out of bed and get ready for work. Sadly, my mug is empty, and that‘s when I know it‘s really time to get up. Anyway, I‘m liking this book! It was a bit of a random “borrow” (trying Kindle Unlimited), and so far so good.

? A slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers, fake fiancé story with a grumpy/rude (at first) yet super-swoony hero and a fiesty heroine. Good tension, hilarious banter, loved the romance. There is backstory with Jackson and a current situation with Bianca that gave the story some weight. I‘ll read or listen again. Super fun #romantsy.

? Sebastian York‘s narration is a favorite of mine. I also liked Diana Luke‘s performance, loved her accent.

This book sounds good but is anyone else getting tired of the first person trend that authors are going through?

ElenaBaer I read it. I liked it. Read a few more from the same author and then got tired of the alternating POV. 6y
AmandaMarie Alternating POV does get annoying. I‘ve started reading less of those kinds of books. 6y

A marriage of convenience set it modern day New Orleans with a secretly tender-hearted, grumpy rich man and a chef with a sick mom, a restaurant to run and a life she likes just fine. Sparks fly and it‘s overall really great but the end of the book was a little heavy with backstory reveal.

Witty. A reader. A driven businesswoman. Big-hearted. The heroine really carries the book. The hero has many book boyfriend characteristics but he feels more like an underdeveloped stereotype compared to the heroine. I did really like his insecurities but he had no real purpose in life and the issues that brought him to this point were fantastically OTT. The chemistry was 🔥 but slow burn (series title!) and the wrap up a bit quick. #romantsy

robinb @MarriedtoMrT 🤣🤣🤣 Have you read this book? Your apple reference made me think of the peach and aubergine references in this one. Hilarious.... 7y
EloisaJames I loved the heroine (what exactly does he do with his time? Anything?) 7y
MarriedtoMrT @EloisaJames Exercise? 10 hours a day? I enjoyed his interactions with other characters but it would have been nice if he had a more well-rounded personal life. At least pretend he spends time managing investments or something. 7y
MarriedtoMrT @robinb I haven‘t yet but it‘s on my TBR. I do really enjoy Tessa Dare! 7y
robinb @MarriedtoMrT I love her books as well and that one is laugh-out-loud funny! 7y
EloisaJames @MarriedtoMrT yeah, I thought so too. It would have taken a paragraph, max. 7y

I adore the heroine of Burn for You! She‘s got the best snappy responses ever. I loved the fact she‘s a Southern, African American chef from New Orleans—and Mr. Boudreaux—see above—is a tormented, wildly rich white guy. He was an ass and she didn‘t just put him in his place; she threw him there! (You‘re the reason the gene pool needs a lifeguard—Fabulous!!). #romantsy. #diversity #contemporaryromance
