SO AMAZING!
We stood in a 5+ hr line, just to meet Lemony Snicket & have the books signed! It was worth it! He is SO NICE! He kept making jokes. I laughed so hard! He read his name & Jean corrected the pronunciation. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😬 He just laughed and said: 😂 French! French pronunciation, I see. That's why he's looking at him like that in the pic & signed: With all due respect. 😂 😂 😂
I Love people like that! ❤

#ShowSomeLove Day 15: This would definitely qualify as one of my #FaveLiteraryFamily. I devoured this series once upon a time, and even posted it here in the 40 or so books I discovered through GatheringBooks: https://wp.me/pDlzr-bqr

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I read these with my nephew (when he was younger), they were so much fun for both of us. 3y
TheKidUpstairs I'm excited to discover these with my kids! 3y

“Anyone who knew Violet well could tell she was thinking hard, because her long hair was tied up in a ribbon to keep it out of her eyes. She had a real knack for inventing and building strange devices, so her brain was often filled with images of pulleys, levers, and gears, and she never wanted to be distracted by something as trivial as her hair.”

TheHeartlandBookFairy @TheBookHippie and @Librarybelle, my fear is that as we are downsizing are TBR Stacks with this challenge, we will also be adding books to our virtual TBR list because we will see all of the good books everyone else is reading and just have to add them to the stack for ourselves 😂🤦📚 #nocontrol 6y

From Book 11, ‘The Grim Grotto‘.

“The water cycle consists of evaporation, precipitation, and collection - which are the three phenomena that make up what is known as ‘the water cycle‘. Evaporation, the first of these phenomena, is the process of water turning into vapor and eventually forming clouds, such as those found in cloudy skies, or on cloudy days, or even cloudy nights.”

(Read the comments for punchline...)

#QuotsyJune18 | 3: #Repeat

LiterRohde “These clouds are formed by a phenomenon known as ‘evaporation,‘ which is the first of three phenomena that make up the water cycle. Evaporation, the first of these three, is simply a term for a process by which water turns into vapor and eventually forms clouds. Clouds can be recognized by their appearance, usually on cloudy days or nights, when they can be seen in cloudy skies.” 6y
LiterRohde “The name for the process by which clouds are formed - by water, which turns into vapor and becomes part of the formation known as ‘clouds‘ - is ‘evaporation‘, the first phenomenon in the three phenomena that make up the cycle of water, otherwise known as ‘the water cycle‘, and surely you must be asleep by now and so can be spared the horrifying details of the Baudelaires' journey.”

Klaus Baudelaire. From Book 1, ‘A Bad Beginning‘.

“The book was long, and difficult to read, and Klaus became more and more tired as the night wore on. Occasionally his eyes would close. He found himself reading the same sentence over and over. He found himself reading the same sentence over and over. He found himself reading the same sentence over and over.”

That time when Lemony Snicket decided that one of the unfortunate events that befell the Baudelaire orphans was too #dark for words: "...the terror and woe that the Baudelaire orphans felt after...is one of the most dreadful circumstances that it can be represented only with two pages of utter blackness. I have no words for the profound horror the children felt as they tumbled down into the darkness." #QuotsyFeb18

I don't actually know if this quote is from one of his books or if it's something he said, but either way, I love it! #Trouble #QuotsyDec17

I read all the books that were out at the time in one month. I am really enjoying the new Netflix series too!

I finally finished this series. Pretty enjoyable, but, as most of the first half took only an hour or two for each book, I decided not to count each individual book in my 2017 book count, but the series as a whole. I do this a lot for graphic novel series as well (like Locke & Key, which I just finished). Anyone else feel guilty adding short reads to their book count?

DivineDiana Not at all. I think it averages out when you add in a few "chunkers"as Litsy calls those big books! ? 7y

#riotgrams Rainbow book stack. This is a little bit of a cheat. I've been reading my way through a rainbow stack but I am borrowing them from the library. So I don't have them to stack. Image on the left is from goodreads and the right is my current book borrowed. #bookstagram

TieDyeDude I did the same. Just finished The End last week! 7y
