Hi Littens, I‘m looking for your advice. We are going to Carcacassonne in one month ! The Langeudoc Trilogy.. is it good ? Do I need to read the series ? Which is best ? julesG I've started the first book in the series several times now. It's me, not the writing or the content. I have a physical copy and the size of it is just appealing, compared to the kindle. ? Depending on how fast you read, you could get the first book done before your trip. It's "Follett meets Crichton's Timeline" - can I say that? 6y

julesG I had my 'Medieval' phase and read quite a lot of books set in that time. Follett has this story of a Medieval town where a cathedral shall be built

The Pillars of the Earth

julesG Crichton wrote a time travel book about researchers travelling back to the Middle Ages

Timeline

julesG Timeline might actually be more interesting than Labyrinth, it's also set in France but a bit more fast paced than Mosse's story and a lot shorter. 6y

Cathythoughts @TrishB oh great about the series .. I‘ll try one. We are only lucky, as we try to fly from Cork... just so much easier than Dublin .. and we are 20 mins from Cork airport. AND there are direct flights to Carcassonne this summer ... so we are off. Hubby is practicing his French ( 🤭🙄) I cant cope ... 😕 6y

Found this at my dads and as I‘ve read Kate Mosse‘s Labyrinth obviously I was keen to borrow it 🤣 I‘ve made a good dent in it already, so good.

I started listening to this when I discovered that Kate Mosse has a new book coming out next year set in the same part of France. I read this series years ago, and this was my favourite of the trilogy. Finty Williams is a wonderful narrator, so I know I'm going to enjoy this immensely.

This book was long, about 800 pages. Worth every single word, page, and chapter. A resistance group in WWII France made up of women are the heroines of the story. They battle the Nazis and in the end get some help from the past. Heart stopping and heart breaking. ❤️❤️❤️
