Not worth it. ☹️ The main character is weak on purpose, and then it takes a man for her to gain strength. No thank you.

Written with a tone unlike that of my favorite Pushing Daisies narrator, the author does an excellent job weaving in the storylines of several characters, all while focusing on our main ones, Justine and Nick. Pegging the qualities of an Aquarius in Nick: a little flighty, very creative and passionate, and Justine‘s Sagittarius ways of picking up on the details, our author crafts a lovely story for romance readers and astrology admirers alike.

Cute, quick romance that‘s written well and isn‘t entirely gaggy! Loved that the main character is a walking factoid!

This book was amazing! Funny, poignant, and just sprinkled with the right kind of madness. Jenny Lawson has a fan for life! I will suggest this book to all that want a book that feels like a hilarious breath of fresh air forever.

I see why this book would be an important one to read, but it was also gut-wrenching and altogether difficult to get through. The author does an impressive job taking you with the character back to her own personal hell and the hell of so many who suffered at the hands of slavery. Definitely left me outside my comfort zone.

I think I‘m getting to that stage where YA is no longer capturing my attention! This was a cute read, but definitely for a younger crowd.

One more before the new year! Sweet romance with a happy ending. Good read!

I did it!

I was lucky enough to receive a ARC of this amazing novel and it did not disappoint. An amazing story that interlaces true, historical events with an original fiction that is unlike anything I‘ve ever read (save her first novel). Beatriz Perez is the embodiment of the woman we all crave to become someday: fiercely strong and intelligent, who knows how to see the world for what it is. This story is one that will resonate with me forever. Amazing.

Powerful read. The story isn‘t overwhelming or flourishing, but quiet, just like everyday life. The writing is beautiful and reminds you that words on a page are so much more than just that. Great read!

Hilariously offensive and not for the faint hearted whatsoever. She was an insane woman! Loved it. Worth the listen!

Whoa. I‘m not one for ghosty-supernatural style fiction, but this was a great book. The ending fell a bit flat, but very good read overall.

Well, I read my first full fledged romance novel and was greatly disappointed. I‘ve read some that have all pleasantly surprised me and been their fair share of predicable, but man... this one was too predictable.

While some of the writing was great, I just felt like I was reading a 13 year old girl‘d diary. I feel like it could have been better... whomp.

While this book was well written and I did like the characters and their development, this was basically a melting pot of other books like Divergent, The Hunger Games series, and GoT. It did leave me curious enough to see if it finds its voice, so I‘ll be reading the other books.
