I need a palette cleanser read; and I haven't read Lori Foster in yearssssss, so 📖
A worthy read for Van Halen fans.
And a funny little cosmic book/life story: I saw VH in March 1984. The following month I met and started going out with my boyfriend and we realized we both saw VH the same night. As of yesterday, we're together 40 years! Just strange that I decided to read this book now 💫

Time for a little sex, drugs, and rock n' roll after all that corporate drudgery of my last read 🤘🏼
Having read this so shortly after Our Kids: The America Dream in Crisis was a #Powerful combination. If you aren't screwed by the opportunity gap in childhood, you're pretty likely to be screwed by the bottom-line mentality of the corporate world.

Way too densely packed with info that I just don't care enough to wade through.

Saturday morning
Set in Africa in the 70s there was a mountain climb, a tragedy, a job, an almost affair, robberies, a disappearance, and another mountain climb. Not quite sure of the overall point, but it held my interest.

The problem with auto-buy authors is just that: I buy without even checking to see what it's about. I ended up disappointed that this was a murder mystery and not the HF I've come to love; hence the so-so rating. However! Cleeton's writing is so engaging it saw me through a genre that isn't really my cup of tea.

I've been waiting almost a year for this!!
I need to just rant for a second: I now officially hate Barnes and Noble after years of simmering anger with them. The local store I've been going to since moving to CO 4 years ago is The. Worst. I have yet to buy a book from them that isn't marred or damaged (including NR on release day). Today I had to search for this bc it was shelved no where near new releases AND this was the only copy out🤬⬇️
April's #Bookspin and #DoubleSpin
It's been yearsssssss since I've read Anita Shreve, so I was psyched to find one I never read in a Little Free Library.
But first! I must get & read Chanel Cleeton's new book, The House On Biscayne Bay, that is out today 😁💃🏻
March wrap-up: 7

Pick of the Month: The Princess of Las Vegas
The information was important; the delivery was a little drier and more academic than I was expecting.
