The Wise Man's Fear

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and perfect.

This book, guys...literally the best book I've read all year. If I were to recommend one book to the future president it would be this one. This is definitely a modern classic and will sit next to Bradbury in the future. I absolutely loved this book and the character explorations on sexuality, individuality, relationships, diversity, allegiance and so much more. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💕📚

Received Jane Steele in a Christmas box exchange from my best friend. I love everything in the box (especially the handmade bookmarks) and I'm very excited to read this book.

I am absolutely loving this book. It took about 50 pages to get into all the science fiction jargon but the discussion on diversity is A+. This is one that will become a modern day classic for sure! You need to read it.

This book is so good. I'm about 60% of the way through and I never want it to end. If you haven't started this series I highly recommend it. The first one in the series is the least impressive but they just get better and better. Maas knows how to fix her errors and listens to all her readers. She is an amazing author.

Listening to this book. The narrator is really great, even on 1.5 speed. I'm really enjoying it so far 18% through. I'm hoping to get more driving in so I can finish t before it's due.

jessberk13 I looooved this book 8y
MichellisLife @jessica I'm really enjoying it. I can totally see it becoming a favorite. It kind of gives me the same book lover vibes as The Stories Life of AJ Fickery. I absolutely loved that one. 8y

Currently reading.
I just finished a fantasy YA book and wanted to pick something on the opposite side of the literary spectrum. I didn't know what to expect going into this. The first story had me hooked. Dark, disturbing and hilarious. These modern stories are twisted with hidden and dark truths. The middle is dragging a little but I'm still loving it.

I'm absolutely in love with this series. I've never seen the original tv show but this series makes me want to. The art and writing is fantastic. The diversity and body positivity is really great too.

angrylilasian I loved the show when I was a kid. I tried to watch it recently because I love the comic books so much. Awful. Don't watch it. 😆 8y
MichellisLife @angrylilasian oh, good to know. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just have to keep reading the comics 😉 8y

My current read. This is my first Ferrante. I've heard nothing but wonderful things.

I'm currently in the phase of completing my monthly TBR and being at a loss of what to read next. I figured this would be a good one to pick up for the time being. It is reading relatively quickly.

Today's read. I had to stop A Little Life. It was an emotional roller coaster and I felt like Yanagihara was emotionally manipulating me.

I started this book earlier in the year. I've always been interested in learning more about the Romanovs. Massive write non fiction in a beautifully fictional way.

4🌟🌟🌟🌟 I absolutely loved this fist installment. I have a serious crush on Silk. She is comical and quippy but sentimental and strong. The artwork is fantastic. It did change in 3/7 of the issues and that pissed me off but it was tolerable. Some of the inner dialogue was a little spoon fed as well but overall I really enjoyed it.

Starting A Little Life today. I still have to finish the top two books (The Picture of Dorian Gray and A World Without You) first. Does anyone else read multiple books at the same time? If so, what books are you currently reading?

Notafraidofwords I have a hard time reading multiple books at the same time. Any recommendations? 8y
bookloversnevergotobedalone I try to but I've found they have to be VERY different or I get them mixed up 8y
MichellisLife @bookloversnevergotobedalone yeah I agree they do have to be very different. I recently read two contemporaries where the protags were graduating high school and I got those two stories mixed up. 8y

bookloversnevergotobedalone Oops forgot the second half of your question I'm re-reading Fear of Flying by Erica Jong, reading for the first time Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kinsolver and thinking of starting The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami 8y
MichellisLife @Notafraidofwords usually I have one kindle book, one audio, and one physical. Sometimes I mix it up and throw a graphic novel in as well. I've learned they have to vary in genre other wise they get mixed up. I usually wind up reading multiples because I commit to too many buddy reads lol. 8y
MichellisLife @bookloversnevergotobedalone oh I read The Wind Up Bird Chronicles several years ago. It remains the only Murakami I've ever read. 8y

I loved The book Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld and this book has similar themes. I am absolutely loving the dream world, the sleep magic, and the beautiful prose. The f/f romance is good too. I like the asexual 101 feel as well because I am not educated on that sexuality. I'm only 35% through.

Look at this beautiful cover. The author reached out to me asking if I could review her book. All she had to say was that this is a story with an Asexual character. Her writing is engaging and I'm really enjoying the story and the representation/ information I've learned so far. Plus that cover 👌

Notafraidofwords I'm not going to lie, this sounds fascinating! 8y
MichellisLife @Notafraidofwords it's really good so far. It also features a f/f romance. After a traumatic accident, our main character is greeted by a female version of the Sandman. Through her she finds out more about her comatose brother and how he's doing. The dream landscape is a really interesting feature. 8y
