Pickpick

I love classics. Just putting that out there, so this was right up my alley. This book took me there and back. Those parts that were meant to be frightening certainly were and the author did a great job of keeping me hooked.
I would have loved to know more about Dracula and I felt it ended before I knew enough about him. It was a great read though and ticked all the right boxes. Humour, terror, great storytelling. Tick, tick, tick.

And what kind do you read?

thegirlwiththelibrarybag It always varies a bit - but I aim for 100+... I read mostly novels across different genres (including some MG and YA books) 8mo
Chelleo Hmmm....anywhere between 50-75. 8mo
JNSibanda @thegirlwiththelibrarybag okay, okay, I really gotta step my game up! That's pretty impressive 8mo

JNSibanda @Chelleo that's really good. What kind of books? 8mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @JNSibanda, thanks ☺️ I‘m a reasonably fast reader with strong leanings towards solitude... I also read graphic novels 8mo
TheSpineView Around 100 give or take. It I didn't work I think it would 200. 8mo

Just wondering if we have any speed readers out there? How long does it take you to get through a novel?

tournevis I'm fast, but I never calculated formally. I am faster in French than in English, even as I read more in English than in French because job. 8mo
JNSibanda @tournevis I suppose most people wouldn't know. I always wanted to learn French. Hasn't happened yet but I'm still holding out hope. How long does it take you to get through a novel? 8mo
tournevis @JNSibanda If in French, 200 pages would be at most 5 hours straight. In English, 7 to 8 hours. 8mo

Which are you most comfortable reading?

Bookwormjillk Hard copies, but electronic books are good for traveling 9mo
melissajayne Really depends on my mood and availability of the book. Some books have come out on just on the electronic format 9mo

JNSibanda I've tried electronic, even tried audio books at one point, my first love is physical copies. I understand the need for convenience but I just love the smell of the pages, the feel of the book in your hand, even the way the pages mash together because of the food stains when you've been binging on a good book.. It's an unrivalled experience. 9mo
JNSibanda But I get electronic. Sometimes, just sometimes, I feel technology is taking some things away from us. It has given us a lot, but it also takes away a little. 9mo
greenhairdontcare Paperbacks, but I don‘t have the money or space for all my books to be paperback. 9mo
Eggs Welcome to Litsy. 🌷 9mo
Crazeedi Welcome to Litsy !🎉🎉 I read both, used to be physical books, but since I was introduced to overdrive, I've read many ebooks 9mo
