Eden is a beautifully written debut novel that centers around a family's summer vacation home throughout the generations and all the family drama that goes with it. At first it was hard for me to keep all the family members straight, but thankfully the author included a family tree at the beginning of the book. I highly recommend this one! 4.5/5⭐

Could you imagine walking away from modern life and living alone in the woods? And I'm not talking about living in a cabin with the comforts of a roof and walls, but in a makeshift campsite built off of stolen items. Well, Christopher Knight did just that. For 27 YEARS.

For it being a short read, I recommend it, but I do wish the author could have gone deeper into the background story of the Knight family to give the reader a complete picture.

If you haven't read Beartown yet, it is my favorite for the month and will definitely be a contender for my favorite of the year!

I always get excited for the last day of the month because #bookofthemonthclub releases the next month's picks. And of course I had to pick right away. What is everyone selecting this month? I went with Final Girls and added American War (a previous month's pick that I passed on and regreted).

I wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into with this book when I started it or really even halfway through, but I'm so glad I read it. It deals with tough life situations that will pull at your heartstrings and make you ache for the characters.

If you love historical fiction and can take the time to really slowly immerse yourself in the story you will find this book truly magical. It is slow at times and for me, lacked an extensive plot, but you cannot argue with the depth of writing and dedication to the time.
