Bailedbailed

Oof... I had to read this for work and, truth be told, I did not finish it. I‘ve never NOT finished a ‘required‘ book before, so this was a rough day. 😅 But, it seems that the general agreement tonight was this is a tedious & confusing read through the first 3/4 of the book - if you made it to the end it was worth the trip. I am almost convinced it will be worth it to pick it up and push through. But for now I‘ve bailed. #bookswithbohemianyogini

Pickpick

As I was reading, I noted that, as a novel, this story would be annoying and trite and cliché. Strayed‘s story derives all of its value from being an actual lived experience. She is brutally honest, in every sense, relaying her self-awareness in a way that I deeply admire. It's Eat Pray Love meets Survivor. Scochrane26 I always thought of it as a combo of eat pray love and a walk in the woods, except w/ out bill Bryson‘s humor. I like your comparison, too. 1mo
rachaich That's so apt. Completely agree 1mo
jb72 There were parts I liked. Parts I didn‘t like. But that story about the horse.....😢 was almost too much to read about. 1mo

Paris For One | Jojo Moyes
Mehso-so

Rating: 4/6
Paris for one is a #romcom novel. The story is romantic and sweet, and could actually be something which happened in real life.
The novel is easy to read and are well written. Just what I expected from a #bestseller author.
The beginning was slightly dull, but got better after few chapters. The story didn't build up to a climax, and ended with open ending. The novel reminds me of a short story.
I recommend the book to romcom fans.

Circe | Madeline Miller

#myopinion: I feel like I've been trying to read this book for a long a time. Well finally I'm about 80% done, so I thought I give my opinion on what I've read so far. To me, it starts off a bit slow, then it picks up, and then it dips back down again. Circe is well written, but overall the story is boring. I'd give it a 3/5..
