4✨

After finishing the Mortal Instruments earlier this year, I decided to continue with the Shadowhunter books. But realised I didn't read these 4 short stories yet. So I worked these short stories in, between my reading so that I can start The Eldest Cures next.

I enjoyed most of the stories in this compilation.

3½ ✨

Fast paced and engaging with a very interesting premise.
Even if it does seem a bit too unrealistic at certain points.
The fact that Hannah seems to know exactly what everyone thought and felt worked a bit on my nerves, but I could look past that and focus on the story.

Bk1 of #EasterOMC & #AwesomeApril #readathon is done! Wow. One of the best SciFi books I‘ve read in a long time, and I‘ve read some brilliant one lately. I love a novel with intricate world-building & this has some of the best I‘ve read. Then she peoples it with the best characters I‘ve met. Total win-win for me👍 #BookspinBingo #Doublespin bk of April #Booked2023 #WithATransorNonBinaryPerson #FourFoursIn23 #RomanceExpanse #NoShameReadathon

Lizpixie @Nessavamusic @Lauredhel I highly recommend it. It‘s my first 5⭐️read of the year and honestly, will probably move onto my Top 20 SciFi list. I really hope she writes more set in this world🤞 12mo
Lizpixie @Andrew65 I thought it took way longer than I would‘ve a year ago! I‘m still struggling with brain fog and it sucks🫥 12mo
Andrew65 @Lizpixie Sorry to hear that but pleased to hear you are persevering. 12mo

4½✨

I read this book in 2016 for the first time and fell in love with everything about it. But then I had to wait for the second one and somehow never got around to reading it.
So I picked up Wayfarer, but was so totally confused with the events happening that I had to come back to this one for a quick update.

I thoroughly enjoyed this re-read and the first chapter of Wayfarer already has me wanting to know just what exactly is going on.

Enchanted_Bibliophile Somehow I was convinced one of the main characters passed away 🤷🏼‍♀️ So imagine my surprise when I opened the next book to find them alive and well 🫤 12mo

#Pemberlittens We did it!!! @BarkingMadRead thank you for the last 3 months of rockin #️⃣, never would‘ve gotten through this one without you!

I‘m super impressed that this portrait of a neighborhood over many years actually came to life with all its misfits and misanthropes. And I did enjoy the writing style. That said, 800+ pgs with no real plot thread and no likable characters was rough!

#Pantone2023 #Skylight @Clwojick

BarkingMadRead I agree, it could have been so much shorter and still accomplished her goal 13mo

February catchup review 2:
This one was been on my shelf for a few years now and I‘m so glad I finally got around to it. It ended being one of my favorites this month and might even make it on the year end list I loved it so much.

It takes place during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic and follows the Bright family as the lose loved ones, take in an orphaned baby, and learn to navigate the aftermath of the pandemic. It‘s harrowing and hopeful… ⬇️

MeganAnn … there is loss and death, love and strength, and it promises that we too can continue on and even find happiness in the aftermath. I think this one was even more compelling having read it after our own pandemic experience. 5⭐️ Also love this beautiful cover! 💖 #pantone2023 #airyblue #skylight #graylilac @Clwojick 14mo

I quite enjoyed my first encounter with Robert Langdon. I always find books like this fascinating, intertwining fact and fiction with such a fine line it's almost believable.

I really liked this debut novel. Great writing, some of it absolutely brilliant. It follows one week in the lives of 4 teenagers who have aged out of the foster care system, who are roommates in a cheap apartment in a town that doesn‘t have much to offer them.

This was surprising, compelling, and thoughtful book. A little slow in places and gross in others but kept me reading and I enjoyed the conversation about it with the #naturalitsy folks. One of those “did you know” books where you share facts with anyone who happens to be nearby. The bits when he shares his relationship with his dad were my favorite. #Pantone2023 #skylight @Clwojick @AllDebooks #NonFiction2023 #RollingintheDeep

AllDebooks Lovely review. I enjoyed the stories of his Dad too, very touching x 1y
