Pickpick

This book grabbed almost from the first page. Loss and sadness just permeates this story. I‘m so glad I read it. #mypagehabit #quarterlybox #bookbox #mystery #crime #readmyowndamnbooks

My #bookhaul in November. #quarterlybox #pagehabit #bookboxes. It wasn't a great reading month for me. I need to devote more time to #myowndamnbooks. If you are interested in my reading life, the link to my blog is in my bio.

I want to read Borne SO bad and with handwritten annotations from the author?! How stinking cool is that? Also, it's a Quarterly box which I've never gotten a box before, so that'd be cool! Such a great giveaway this week :)

Got my first #QuarterlyBox today and since everyone that chose YA knew this book was coming in it, I am not technically posting a spoiler, but I will post the rest of the box next with a spoiler. What I LOVE is all of the annotation post-its from the author! That is really cool and makes me very excited to dig in 😊❤

bibliobliss Whoa 😯 how does that work?! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Readage Quarterly sends out a book box every 3 months and it is curated around their book of choice. Usually includes a few books and Bookish goodies. This is my first box by them, so I don't know if each time they have the authors make notes, but they scanned and printed his hand written notes on post-its and then placed them in the book. It is really awesome! I wish he would have signed the actual book, but still a great surprise. ❤📚 7y
Daisey I get this box as well and love the author annotations! Each of the boxes I've received has included them. 7y

BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Daisey thank you! Good to know 😊 Have the items been better or worse or about the same? 7y
Daisey Every box since it has been author curated has included three books, and the other items vary in my opinion. The main focus of this subscription is definitely the books, which is the reason I chose this one from the options I considered. 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Daisey these books seem like they might be good, but have there been bad extra books? I am wondering if I should keep subscribing. I definitely like that we got 3 books in it, and I liked the candle and bookmark! But I don't want to keep subscribing if the books other than the main one tend to be on the "pan" side. 7y
Daisey Honestly, I have not read many other than the annotated ones, which I have enjoyed. Most have looked interesting, but I always have so many books to read that many have just gone into my class library or been used as student incentive books. Those have been enjoyed by my avid readers. The last box included Unwind by Neal Shusterman that I'm looking forward to reading for some challenges this year. 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Daisey okay, thank you ❤ I may try one more box 😊 7y
bibliobliss @BooksTeasAndBookishThings That sounds fantastic! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Readage it was a great surprise 😊 7y

I'm thinking of treating myself and start getting a book box subscription. I'd love some recommendations for adult subscriptions. I'm just a big kid and love all little bookish things, but I want to stay with adult fiction and not YA for the actual books.

Echo Maybe Book Riot? 7y
saresmoore I'm following on this because I've actually seen a lack for what you're describing. BookRiot's is good, I think, although a bit pricey for me. 7y
mcipher I'm with you - not a huge YA person but I'd love to try a box. 7y

TheBookAddict Book of the Month!!! Their judges choose 5 books for each month and you make your selection from those books. You can choose to skip a month if you don't like their selections. I started my subscription in September and am loving it! https://www.mybotm.com/34u453t3oemcayvi 7y
Theresa I may be becoming a book box addict. I've done Book of the Month for about 4 months & I really like it. You get to choose the book(s) you want so no surprises except maybe a trinket they throw in. I also buy the Book Riot boxes occasionally. They're nice because there's no commitment, but other than a general theme you have no idea what you'll get in the box. I recently started the Quarterly Box. I've only gotten 1 of those so far (cont...) 7y
Theresa (Cont.) but I really liked it. It was by Brit Bennet & included The Mothers. They emailed info about the author & main book for the January box & it looks really good. Finally I just signed up for Indiespensable from Powell's Books. I haven't received any of those boxes yet but, based on Litsy comments, I think it's going to be good. Check out #Indiespensable & #quarterlybox for more info. (edited) 7y
Theresa One more hashtag... Try#powellsindiespensable for a post with a link to more info about that box program & how to sign up. 7y
LauraBrook Book of the Month is wonderful, and one I'd like to subscribe to again is MyBookBox. You pick two genres (i did mystery and nonfiction) and get two books a month. Can't remember price, but it was just the books. What I really liked about them was that I was always surprised by their choices and that I hadn't heard of the picks anywhere else. And, still haven't come to think of it! I've tried others &they're fun, but I'm picky about bookish extras. 7y
Smangela I agree with @TheBookAddict and if you use they're code you get a discount. I also think there is a code of Facebook to get one month for $5 to try it out. Brand new hardback book and free shipping - I rejoined with a code they sent me for 6 months for other $59.98! I like that you can skip the months too if you aren't interested in that month's selections 7y
TheBookAddict @Smangela yeah and it's not as pricey as other subscriptions. 7y
Smangela @TheBookAddict very true. I did OwlCrate for a while and I liked it but some of the items were either impractical for me or I hadn't read the book the item was in reference too. Plus you couldn't skip a box. This one definitely works better for me :) 7y

Well, my book mail this morning included a new mug and some tea to brew! I added the wine because it's been that sort of day. #bookandbrew #photoadaynov16

RealLifeReading Dang. There I was thinking this was some kind of awesome book and wine subscription box... 7y
Betty A #quarterly box? I got the same! 7y
Loreen @RealLifeReading That would be an awesome book box! 7y
Loreen @Betty yup, #Quarterlybox. They "forgot" to send mine last month, so I just got it this morning. It's just what I needed to cheer me up, with, you know, my own bottle of wine. At 10:30 in the morning.??? 7y

#lit02 #quarterlybox curated by Brit Bennett. I am super excited for this box. However, I already have We Should All Be Feminists. I will have to make it a present and pass it along, which I'm okay with. Great box though!
