This is easily one of my #MostRecommended reads, and I'm always a little disappointed when people don't absolutely love it. #AprilAmazingReads

TieDyeDude Same with Stardust, I started reading this too soon after watching the excellent movie. Got to get some space before attempting again. 7y

Okay, Litsy! You win! The #mostrecommended thing since I've joined has been audiobooks and yesterday I got an Audible subscription.

My first book is this memoir from Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ron Suskind about raising his autistic son whose primary connection with the world is through Disney movies. Also an Oscar-nominated documentary which I plan on checking out after the book.

LectricSheep Nice! 👍🏻 7y
ValerieAndBooks I will have to check this out. I have a nephew (18 years old) who loves quoting Disney movies ❤ 7y

I recently shared a post which highlighted some of my favourite five star reads, so I'm dedicating this post to my most recommended #comicbook series! If you haven't picked up the Walking Dead comics and you love the show, you simply must do so!

4.8 #aprilamazingreads #mostrecommended I recommend author Sarah Winman ALL the time! I love her writing, and find she's not always so well known in the US.... She writes whimsical stories, full of quirky characters, young and old, with a touch of magic, that always pack an emotional punch... I recommend her first 2 novels all the time, and can't wait for her new one 'Tin man' this summer.... 💕

mcctrish I loved 'When god was Rabbit' I need to read more by her 🎉 7y
rockpools I stack this again every time you mention it! Why haven't I read her yet? 7y
KarenUK @rachelO @mcctrish Both of these are winners 😊 💕👍 7y

#FunFridayPhoto My #mostrecommended books by far are all by Barbara Kingsolver. Start with The Bean Trees and go chronologically to see her writing style evolve. I will never not love her.

My #mostrecommended book, at least this last year, is The Tsar of Love and Techno. Short story collections and not a favorite genre of mine, but this collection of interconnected sorry stories really blew me away. #funfridayphoti

These two books have been my go-to recommendations during those deeply personal conversations about aging and illness. Because of our age, my friends and I talk about this more than someone younger might. And the topics are important to me because of my own experiences. #funfridayphoto #mostrecommended

[DELETED] 2232195534 Great pick! I almost listed Being Mortal or even Still Alice. Can't think how many times I've recommended both of those. 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @kaysreadinglife I haven't read Still Alice yet. Too close to home for now. But I've heard such good things! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I understand about Still Alice. It was a while before I could read it too. One day maybe for you. 🙂 8y

Desha I understand thinking/discussing this and When Breath Becomes Air. I have a degenerative lung disease from a pesticide I encountered while teaching in Japan twenty years ago and it's a daily struggle with the limitations/quality of life especially as the years go by. 💔😥🙏🏻 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Desha I'm sorry for your struggles. I was just talking with a friend this morning about the things we take for granted - until we lose them. Like breathing. I can't imagine how hard it must be. 😘 7y
Desha @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thank you for understanding...not many people around me do they are very unsympathetic to illness in denial of the reality that it can happen to anyone...to them I am a scary reminder of that reality. I used to be a very successful overachiever lol (not that that's good for stress levels lol) but I was working/volunteering 24/7 with no difficulty. 20 years since the age of 23 reaching for air has been a challenge 7y
Desha @BarbaraTheBibliophage and a personal growth catalyst for certain!! Thanks again for your understanding. ❤️😍❤️ 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Desha I know it feels like you're alone, but hopefully the internet allows you to connect with people who get it. I've been living with chronic illness (RA, Ménière's disease and Lyme disease) for nine years. It's so hard to figure out the balance between reality and denial! Lately I'm moving so much more towards reality and not trying to be so tough all the time. 7y
Desha Oh @BarbaraTheBibliophage I'm so sorry you are dealing with such difficult illnesses! ? I know how hard it can be. There is a community I follow I think it's called "Chronic Babe"...a blog written by a woman with chronic illness who gets it and offers supportive, practical advice. There is also The Mighty, a webpage where there are many vulnerable posts about what it's like to live w different kinds of chronic illness and how to cope. Yes, 7y
Desha reality can be a tough pill to swallow...I had a hard time getting it down! 😜 But I really try to do what I can with what I've got and practice acceptance with what I just cannot do. It's a daily battle...sometimes frustration and feelings of loss win...but I'm not giving up! 👍🏻 Sending healing thoughts to you! ❤️ 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Desha Yes, I love both of those sites although I read and lurk more than participate. 😜 It sounds like we approach the situation of chronic illness about the same. Fighting as much as we can! Sending you love and hugs too. ❤❤ 7y
Desha Oh I'm so glad you already go to those sites! They are quite encouraging in helping me know that at least I'm not alone! ☺️ Thanks for the love and hugs ☺️☺️ Lifts my spirits! 😍❤️😍 7y

Here are my #mostrecommended titles. I have different books that I might suggest to a book loving friend that I know well. But I loved all of these. And when friends and family, especially those that don't read as often, are looking for recommendations, these are my go to crowd pleasers.
@Liberty #funfridayphoto

ValerieAndBooks I'm reading The Thirteenth Tale right this moment (taking a Litsy break)! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 Very nice! Have not read the top two. Have recommended both the bottom ones over and over! 😀 8y
CoffeeAndABook I've read & loved all four books but especially the wonderful Attachments & The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society . Great list! 🎈 8y
Cinfhen I ❤️ A.J. 8y
