It‘s so good !

Oof tragicomic is a great way to describe this. It focuses on, in graphic novel form, her life from childhood to the time surrounding her fathers death and her coming out as a lesbian. This memoir is hard hitting.
Helps to be fairly well read to understand all the implications of all the books mentioned but not essential.

The art in this is very “standard manga style,” which I‘m not a big fan of, but it was done well—the characters are all very well distinguished. (I particularly enjoyed how evil Lucy Steele looked and how stupid her sister Anne looked.) This is quite a faithful adaptation, surprisingly comprehensive, though I missed Margaret‘s funny lines and there‘s some over-the-top romantic bits at the end. Good way for a manga fan to get into classic lit!
Omg I can‘t believe it took me so long to get to this one. I loved everything about it: the vibe, the art, the story. I could happily live in that world.
One away from caught up! I liked the piece with dad in this one, but it was missing a lot of the favorite side characters.
Shelley: The way the artist painted his head, it looks like her favorite purse and not a human head.
Head of Holofernes: So I guess this makes me an accessory to murder.
Fun little cartoon collection around the theme of books and literature.
Perfect palate cleanser for relaxing. Of course, some are better than others, but I'm always impressed by the imagination it takes to create so many vignettes.
"A Nibling's revenge is terrible!"
I want this on either a t-shirt ? or my tombstone ??
Written by Lars Jansson, and the last of the collected comic strips to be illustrated by Tove. Not much to say other than, "It's the Moomins," which is all the recommendation it needs ?? ????
Much as I'm finding Vaneigem's "Contributions to the Revolutionary Struggle..." stimulating and challenging, it's also a bit dry, so having got to a natural break in the text, I'm distracting myself with a volume of Moomin comics by Tove and Lars Jansson.
It opens in winter, with the Moomins preparing for hibernation, but, of course, their slumbers are interrupted by a succession of demanding guests seeking shelter from the snow! ?️❄️?
Spectacular. Certainly took some darker turns with more pathos than I initially anticipated, but the fantastical elements are gorgeously rendered and truly imaginative.
I'm usually a big grump about illustrated works in black and white/gray scale, but this was beautiful even without colour. To think I found out about it because of an ad in the back of a The Way of the Househusband manga! 1/?
