Flynn is no one-hit wonder. Even though Sharp Objects didn‘t quite live up to her most popular book, it was still good. Highly readable, and darker, if you can believe it. This book mixes together the “beautiful woman with dark secrets” idea with the essence of Southern Gothic, and the results are impressive. The writing is ok, story is entertaining but my favorite part was the ending, gave the book that little extra that it was missing.
This book is okay. I probably would have read this book when I was a teenager. I feel like if someone reads this book, it needs to have warnings to go along with it. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.
This was my last catchup review from February I didn‘t get posted earlier this week.
An informative and interesting graphic novel about Cook‘s experience living with Borderline Personality Disorder. I enjoyed the alternating chapters of more graphic content then more text heavy descriptive content. I think that gave the reader more insight into her feelings and experiences than a regular graphic heavy version might have. ⬇️
This book was very insightful. I found a lot of similarities in some of my struggles with these clients. Its a good “you aren't alone“ and “you are heard“ type of book. I wish there were more of a “what do do now“ other than all the hard work of therapy. Ha! Why can't we take a magic pill? Its hard to not get discouraged when you “hide“ a bit piece of yourself from others.
JuJu gets it :) #DogsofLitsy
