lil1inblue Full disclosure - I bailed on this one at 35% because it triggered me. Hard. However, had I read this book in high school, it would have helped me unlock so much. It would have been so valuable when I was still in the trauma. Just knowing I wasn't alone in my feelings would have done wonders. 3w
Scochrane26 @lil1inblue I can understand why you couldn‘t get through. I think I put it off for a few years for the same reason, even though I‘ve read more traumatizing stories & heard irl stories. I‘m also glad it‘s out there for YA. 2w

Hey #WithTheBanned readers!! Discussion posts for our August book are coming. Like always, I‘ll tag everyone in the first post. There are 5 questions in total.

Also, in the next few weeks, I‘ll put up a post for suggestions for 2026 reads. Start thinking about books you‘d like to see on the schedule next year.

author_izzybond A classic book. If you like 1984, you might like my short fiction story: The Silence Dividend. 1mo

Hey #WithTheBanned readers!

I apologize, but time got away from me and there will be no discussion for July.

Our August book is Speak. Hopefully I‘ll be back on track with discussion posts this month.

Apologies in advance, bc I keep snapping photos of sections for myself. Not unlike Fahrenheit 451, Parable of the Sower, or The Handmaid‘s Tale, I‘m floored by how resonant this feels to right now. #WithTheBanned

TheBookHippie This is required reading for seniors in highschool here. 🙃 2mo
Melismatic @TheBookHippie I wish I had read it in high school!! That was prime political awakening time for me during W‘s second term! 2mo
