Nothing to See Here | Kevin Wilson
post image

I‘m not really “ doing this challenge”, but I noticed I‘ve filled in a few more states with some of the books I‘ve read recently, so I thought I‘d add them.
Nothing to See Here - Tennessee , Life and Afterlife of Harry Houdini -Wisconsin( where Houdini claimed he was from, but only lived there 4 years ) , Alice‘s Tulips - Iowa , The Glovemaker- Utah .

Who knows.... maybe I‘ll get it finished one of these days. It‘s ok either way.

TheAromaofBooks I'm enjoying filling them in without pressuring myself to complete them by a certain date. I just think it will be interesting to see how much of the country I've traveled by the end of the year!! 5h
ljuliel @TheAromaofBooks You‘ve got the right idea with it. I tend to put pressure on myself if I‘m in a challenge. I wasn‘t planning to do much with it this year, but looking through my past few books I‘ve read, then at my map, I thought I might as well fill in the slots. I‘m just going to read whatever strikes my fancy. If it‘s set in a missing state , I‘ll probably add it , but if not, it‘s ok. 😊 5h

Dear Edward | Ann Napolitano

Fictional flight 2977 crashes. 191 people die. Eddy survives. It‘s tragic. Would that every Edward had their Shay. This is a heartbreaking, thought-provoking in-an-instant-life- is-forever-changed book. And there is always hope.

A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book for me. I loved the writing, the descriptions of different worlds and people, the characters. Several good themes. Makes me want to travel everywhere. I‘m going to use this for #ReadtheUSA2020 since it‘s set mainly in Vermont. Also using for my library‘s book challenge.

Really enjoyed this book, thought it was such a brilliant story. Would never have read it if it wasn't for the Booked reading challenge either, so glad I joined in.

I came to this book having read GLAPPPS, loving it and hoping this book would be just like it. She writes mesmerizing prose, with vivid imagery and captivating descriptions that immerse the reader in the settings she creates. Her characters are quirky and endearing and precocious little Willa Romeyn stole the show. But while the writing is entrancing, the story flounders and stalls under the weight of excessive words. #ReadtheUSA2020 #WestVirginia

Two novels in one volume - both were fun. The Playboy Prince wrapped up the ongoing terrorist storyline in a satisfactory manner. Cordina's Crown Jewel was my favorite of the series, skipping to the next generation of characters and unexpectedly taking me to Vermont for #ReadtheUSA2020 and #SeparatedbyaPondTour
@Andrew65

Andrew65 Thanks, need to start researching some US states. Just finished a book for Virginia. 2d
TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65 - I figure for a few months I'll just read like normal and see which states I can check off that way. I should be able to get a lot done just from books I own!! 2d

It goes like this ...Mom of adorable, young boy dies. Hunky dad leaves busy California with said boy, for the slower life of gorgeous Door County, Wisconsin. They land at an apple orchard run by rugged but beautiful, single women and her fun-loving aging father. Oh, and there is the fear of unfeeling developers buying out the farm. Is this not a predicate for a Hallmark movie!? Still, a fun easy read.

4thhouseontheleft I liked this book too. And beautiful photo! 3d

Reggie Well, lol, you still hooked me, stacked! 3d
marleed @Reggie LOL. Sometimes it‘s just fun to read a story unfold exactly as you knew it would. I found myself wondering which of the 15 female and 9 male actors would play the parts. And just how will the boy‘s mother‘s death (prior to story - of course) be changed to a more heroic HM parental passing. It truly added to the fun of the read! 3d

Bloom | Kevin Panetta

Publisher First Second has been putting out some excellent LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 content, and Bloom is no exception.

Yes, Ari can be teen angsty and whiny at times, but I can really empathize with his situation. From an immigrant Greek family that can‘t afford to send him to college, Ari struggles to find his way post-high school graduation.

A sweet, slow-burn summer romance set in a MD 🏖 town that I highly recommend! Plus ALL the baked goods! 🧁🥖

LibrarianRyan The oddest thing, I got a notice on my phone that you posted this, but when I opened the app it does not show it, or on the desk top either in my activity list. @Litsy you might want to look into this blip. 3d
4thhouseontheleft @LibrarianRyan Hmm, that‘s weird. The Whole post, or just my comment with hashtags? The comment disappeared when I first posted it, but now I can see it again. 3d
LibrarianRyan @4thhouseontheleft Not exactly sure. I saw you post as I was scrolling, but when I received the block notification on my phone, I didn't open it right away and when I logged it in wasn't there. It still isn't there, but the most recent tag is. 3d
Cinfhen Weird stuff is happening on Litsy🤨I‘m showing in my notifications comments but when I go to the posts im actually not tagged @LibrarianRyan 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3d

I love the way Olive‘s stories are told. Some characters are obviously significant to her life, and others simply continue to peel the layers of Olive. What I find particularly interesting is when Olive is a third party to a chapter. She never realizes the impact she had on those lives, but we, the readers, get to learn these details. ...And that is a lesson we should all consider.

3rd of the series. Tells the story of elderly Rev Ames young new wife, how she grew up, the unlikely marriage. Told from Lila's POV, very different and good
