Finished my first TBR read of the year!

Families are complex and this audiobook of the Broadway recording showcases the complexion of the Younger family, an African American family with dreams of more.

I borrowed the audiobook which was performed by the original Broadway Cast and to hear the different emotions and the tension filled pauses during the different peaks of the play was fantastic. I would definitely want to see this play for myself.

SaunteringVaguelyDownwards Nice! I teach this play in Intro to Literature and students really enjoy it. I know the Pennsylvania Shakespeare festival is running it in Summer 2025. 5d
mariaku21 @SaunteringVaguelyDownwards it's a truly amazing and powerful play. I love that you teach this! That's fantastic 4d

lil1inblue This is so tempting. I would be interested depending on the reading schedule. 5d
WildAlaskaBibliophile @lil1inblue I hear you. I want to keep it low key, especially since I have other reading goals and groups I belong to. At the most, I'm thinking about 1 book a month, but more likely 1 book every couple of months. ??? It'll be a democratic process as much as possible, so the club works well for its members. 5d
lil1inblue @WildAlaskaBibliophile I can do that. I'm in! 5d

TheKidUpstairs I would be interested if it was every other or every couple months. I do love translated literature, I just don't always have time for all the books I want to read! 2d
Jari-chan If it's every now and then I'd be in 🤩 2d

#classicschallenge 2025 @Lunakay #JaneAustenThenAndNow @Crinoline_Laphroaig #VirginiaBloomsberries @AllDebooks #2025reads

Current read and one of the 62 books I've lined up in 2025. I read a mix of fiction & nonfiction, classic & contemporary. This year my main focus is Jane Austen, Bloomsbury Group, reading poetry, continuing with mythology, and trying to read a bit more science. I'm not very good at stickling to my plan, but I try.

AllDebooks Nice goals. I have The Mirror and the Palette to get to, as well. 1w
Lunakay Great plan! Switching plans is part of the fun! 😁 1w

I read only The Mousetrap out of this collection since it's the one I've been meaning to read for some time. Man, what an absolute twisty ride! Really well done and keeps you guessing the entire time. Excellent work by #AgathaChristie #mystery #murder

Fun Fact: Richard Attenborough was in the London production in 1952!

I'm FINALLY getting around to reading this enduring play. I shockingly know nothing about this Christie production so I'm exited to go into The Mousetrap completely blind. Truly the queen of mystery.
