4/5
I fit in one more audiobook this afternoon to round out my end of year stats. This is a middle grade novel about bullying, the ones being bullied, the ones participating as a method of self protection, and the ones bullying. I liked it and I think it has a good message, but I‘ll be curious as to whether the girls it‘s intended for will appreciate and learn from it as well.

In this fourth installment Olive is trying to befriend new girl Kat, who turns out to be…catty. Only interested in the popular kids, backstabbing, passive-aggressive, and status-obsessed, Kat wants Olive‘s place in the popularity race. It takes Olive a long time to stand up for herself, and longer for some of her friends to see Kat‘s true colors. Best thing is that Kat makes some changes and Olive makes sure she doesn‘t become a villain forever.
This was addicting in the way teen shows on tv can be! I found it hard to put down. Tonally, this reminds me of Dangerous Girls and the few episodes of Pretty Little Liars that I‘ve seen.
After a girl‘s body is found in the lake, Kay gets an email from the dead girl w/ a program set on exposing her friends & her if she doesn‘t play by the rules. Kay begins to unravel & try to prove she didn‘t kill the girl before it‘s too late.

I had zero series read in February so I was happy to get 4 books in in March. With both All Capone and Bridge of Souls I completed two mg series I had been reading and I‘m loving every minute of Little House chapter a day.

My one and only mg read this week. This is the 4th book in this gn series and I‘ve enjoyed them all. I know I would have devoured these as a kid. In this book Olive learns that not everyone is meant to be friends.
Middle grade fiction. A new student arrives and disrupts things in a small town, and kids summon their courage to confront bullies.
Excellent book, as are all the books I've read by this author.
