#3books #ireadbasedsolelyontheircovers

Ok, so I bought The Diviners solely on its cover. I still need to read it. Read the other two and both were good.

A Certain Age: A Novel | Beatriz Williams

#3Books #Ireadbasedsolelyontheircovers 💛💛

A Certain Age is so beautiful and was my first Beatriz book. I had her sign it!!

I LOVE the cover of Daisy! Totally reminds me of Stevie Nicks at that age. I felt like the book was based on her and Fleetwood Mac 🤷🏼‍♀️ If I‘m being totally honest, I wanted to really, really love it, but I just love it. Evelyn spoiled me!! 💚💚💚

The cover to Nina drew me in because it‘s yellow 💛💛 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Yellow is one of my two favorite colors 💛💜. I totally LOVE this book!! I gifted mine and I usually don‘t reread books, but I‘ll probably read this one again!! Everyone should read it! 4y
OriginalCyn620 Nice pics! 4y
Sargar114 I feel the same about Daisy! Loved Evelyn and 60s music and had high hopes for this one, but maybe they were too high! 4y

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Sargar114 I‘ve heard it‘s better on audio, I just can‘t do audiobooks 🤷🏼‍♀️ 4y
Sargar114 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I may give it a try. I‘ve just dipped my toe into audiobooks, but given the way this one is written I could see it doing well in that format 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Sargar114 let me know if you do!!! 4y

I don‘t think I‘ve read a book based on a cover alone but certainly based on the cover and a good title. Some times it‘s. 👍🏼 like With Fire on High and some times it‘s a 👎🏼 like Of Things Gone Astray. I pick The Library of Legends based on cover and title but haven‘t read it yet.

Traci1 Ooh, library of legends is gorgeous. I would totally buy that for the cover. 4y

I mean, look at these covers? What more do you need to want to read them?

Eaters of the Dead | Michael Crichton

#3books #Ireadbasedsolelyontheircovers
This is probably the most challenging prompt for me because I hardly ever chose a book based solely on the cover. Even if the cover catches my attention first, I usually do a little background research before I invest time/money in the book. That said,
(1) Reckless Magic I picked as part of a challenge because of the nice cover, but the book was really disappointing ⬇️

eeclayton (2) Eaters of the Dead (or The 13th Warrior) because Michael Crichton+Vikings=enjoyment
(3) Norse Mythology has one of the prettiest covers I ever seen

Loved Washington Black
Liked 100 Foot Journey
Didn't care for Essex Serpent

These are all books I read without even looking at the blurb. I actually do that more often than not. I'm totally at the mercy of a pretty cover.

AlaMich Me too, about covers. Even for things like classics, where I know exactly what I‘m getting, I will go out of my way to get a nicer-looking edition from the library! 🤓 4y

Ruthiella We are of the same mind re: The Essex Serpent. The cover is beautiful but I was disappointed with the content. 4y
Traci1 @Ruthiella I have had it for a while, but I decided to read it when I heard they were making a film version. I was so excited about it, but now I don't want to see the movie. I can't see how it would be anything but boring. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick The Washington Black cover kept grabbing my attention sitting on the tables at B&N. I finally caved and bought it. I'm glad I did. 4y
Traci1 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I will almost always buy a book if it has an airship on it. Probably not a good practice, but I can't seem to stop myself. 4y

Because of my job (bookseller) and Litsy, it‘s rare to find books #IreadbasedSOLELYontheircovers because usually I‘ve seen reviews or posts.... but here are #3books that I loved, and went in blind...

- Mayflies, because the cover reminded me of a cheerier A Little Life!
- The Regrets is striking and odd...🤷‍♀️
-Pew is a beautiful naked hardcover, and I had no idea what the embossed splodges of silver foil were.... 🤷‍♀️

All 3 were fantastic!

#3books #ireadbasedsolelyontheircovers (and also because the blurbs sound good). In addition, many on Litsy have enjoyed The Animals at Lockwood Manor, though I was underwhelmed by it. 🤷‍♀️ The other two were good.

rockpools Beautiful! I think I might be stacking a few today... 4y
