The Six Wives of Henry VIII | Alison Weir

I do not do #impulsebuys - I suck at picking and ran out of shelf space a long time ago. This is the only book I recall being an #impulsebuy. Many, many years ago I bought it at an airport - and it started a life time of fascination with Tudors and the history writing of Alison Weir. A great purchase! It has been well worn since, and I have been recommending it to everyone!

Gezemice @GinaAnderson Me too, but re-read it a couple times, last time when I was wondering if the Tudors show used this book and they totally did! I found quotes in the book that were in the show that came from Weir's commentary, not from historic sources. 8y

Alisnazzy @Gezemice yes that's true. I think I tried one of novels and couldn't really get into it. But I haven't read a nonfiction of hers that I didn't love. 8y

My #impulsebuys for augustofpages #photochallenge. Lately, the majority of my impulse buys have been ebooks since I don't live close to a bookstore anymore. It's a little too easy for me to pop onto the Kindle Store and end up with a few new ebooks because they sounded kind of interesting and were only a few dollars each. These are just some of the ones I've bought in the past week. 😬😬

The Regional Office Is Under Attack!: A Novel | Manuel Gonzales

Besides the #impulsebuys I made from Audible today, last week I picked these two beauties up! City traffic is completed unpredictable, and when the drive to my hairdresser to do this crazy thing took 30 minutes less than I planned, I figured I could "just browse" the clearance rack at @bookpeople . We all know how that worked out. Can't wait to read them though! #augustofpages
